Chris71: Cuddleclub: Well well well, I was told he had a clause in his contract he couldn’t sign for a SL Club. Not sure on this best years well behind him.
Can't see that would have been legal unless it was Watts that asked to be released from his contract, if Cas/McGuire where the ones to instigate his contract termination then they wouldn't be able to restrict his chances of re employment. Just what I got told and I trust who told me.

In fairness McGuire said in the post match interview that he expected Watts to go part-time and it looks like we've come in at the last second.Sounds like he's struggled for fitness all pre-season, however it is a long season. If he can focus on getting his fitness levels up and be ready to be called upon when needed whilst on presumably reduced terms, then I think its a decent deal for all involved.

| If one or more of our current props get injured, I think we'll see the value in signing Watts

The return of a 2016 immortal, so Danny and Carlos are not, in the end, the last of the immortals to wear the colours.A slightly odd one as others have commented, didn't see it coming. Would have been better if it was a backrower coming in but guess Cartwright feels Watt's will bring something to the side.If he can stay fit and he's committed then reckon he can be a decent asset short-term. Given the circumstances (both his and the club) it's probably a low-risk deal financially, gives us an extra body up front and experience in the middle. Didn't he end his time with us after been sent-off against Wire? (2018?), would be nice for one of our CC winners to end his time in the famous black & white on a slightly more positive note! If Cartwright (or Myler) feel Watt's can help us until the end of the year, then we need to trust his judgement, that's why we've brought him here. Let's hope it works out for all concerned, even if it's only a short term solution.
