|
Tarquin FuegoWhat if it’s all the same bunkum ? And we get hammered by Cats and Wigan and then lose the next 2 and are 0-4'"All the experience we all have on here of RL in general and the FC in particular, points to our current predicament engendering plenty of optimism and hope before a ball has been dropped in anger but that experience also points to the start of the season being slow and disjointed but providing the passion and wanting is back we'll have to endure it bite the bullet hold the line and be prepared to see us lose a few. As long as we see progression in the development of understanding and playing together slowly improving as the season unfolds and we start to win a few and to proceed to make our home ground a bit of a fortress, where clubs don't want to visit, then we should all be satisfied next season. The signals and indicators we will look for will be the players demeanour the reaction of the new owners to what unfolds and the way our new coach deals with adversity and tries to help us all hold the line. Its a long long way back from where we were last season but if its going to be a corporate development that inspires us all, then owners, players, coaches and most important of all us lot out there on the terraces watching through our fingers (at first at least) have to work together and not get too disheartened too soon. . Just let's not expect too much at first eh? [/quote:1o51eccl]
Encouraging the new owner's saw the rubbish we served up last season and still bought the club.Lot of rumours Kath handed over to AP with a few problems he was not aware of. Don't think that is the case here.
I have no idea if they are expecting to make money after 3 years or how but I certainly feel happier about our future than I did

Good post I can assure you Kath handed over a load of trouble for Adam when he took over and he had to honour some promises made by the departing administration, CE Plummer and all, there were a few surprises too, but several promises that I guess he wouldn't have made himself and a couple of well hidden 'skeletons' I know about .... all water under the bridge so nuff said. As for the new lot, the 3 year bit interested me as well. I am told that they hope to attract a lot more sponsorship investment etc. into the club and they are already on with that with their mates so perhaps that explains the 3 year bit. But we could be in a lot of a worse position and exciting times ahead.... I hope!

|
Is he spinning hype? I would say not. It's the same type of articles you could read for any club. The players are hardly going to say training is going badly or that we're going to finish bottom.
I guess people read into these articles what they want to.[/quote:1tuxf33y]
Of course it isn't, just a Rovers fan putting a negative spin on things.
Has Dan made any over the top predictions, just things are better which they clearly are after the shambles of last year.

This is a big statement, but quite easily the worst RL I've ever known.
Even Rovers fans didn't like him

Yeah. From what I remember this time last year AP was talking about that we’d only be attractive to outside investors once we climbed up the table and had renegotiated the lease. The lease is obviously something that’s been mentioned that they’re keen to get sorted but doesn’t seem to have been a major deal breaker for the new owners, at least what’s been said publicly anyway.
The really exciting thing for supporters is that there’s no way that anyone could come in and maximise revenues etc without major improvements on the field. If the new owners want to eventually make this a fruitful investment they’ll be just as determined for success on the field as the supporters. It’s not like a PL football club that you can simply do enough to avoid relegation every year and watch the money roll in. Nothing is a given in sport but on the face of it this seems as close to a dream scenario as possible. Having a rich sugar daddy would be great, but that’s always risky (see Salford and Koukcash) I’m sure the owners with their reputations in business will want to make this a long term profitable venture.
