| Quote Dave K.="Dave K."Holding him for ransom IMO, not putting him in the 21 or playing him the reserves, had him for a yearbamd alleging asking 65, he isn't worth that. That's alot of money in RL, for a back up player in a mid table side.'"
If its too much then nobody will pay it and he'll stay with us. If he's not worth that then none of the big clubs who can afford him will come in for him (or he wont get a spot in their team) so his only option will be a relegation fighting club who probably can't afford the fee anyway.
Not putting him in the 21 isn't holding to ransom, i can't imagine our coach not playing a player he thought was better than what he's picking.

| Quote Dave K.="Dave K."Possible, holding the player to ransom, was probably a bit over the top. Im guessing he wants to leave, Rovers aren't keen, so have put a high fee on him to trying and stop interest.
Depends if Rovers want to keep an unhappy player taking up cap money.'"
I can see why as Hull fans you’d be more the keen on the idea of him coming to you because he walks in your team and strengthens you in a position that needs it, I personally wouldn’t of thought rovers would do business with Hull though so if he’s going I don’t think it would be Hull (I could be wrong)
As for him being unhappy at the start of the year I thought he would be left edge and Linnetts games would be managed but he’s just Mr consistent and is a 7 out of 10 and above week in week out so while he’s playing like that he can’t just be dropped, Frankie is just unfortunate at the moment

| Wouldn’t pay a fee for any player nowadays.
Contracts are meaningless if all parties are happy to do the deal. Like us with Connor.

There is also looking after the player too, if he is unhappy and wants to play rugby (not even picked for the reserves), imagine if we had held out for a transfer for Abdul, Litten or Hadley, thru would have sat in the reserves instead of developing there career at Rovers. I'm not against Rovers getting a fee, but pricing teams out of signing him, meaning he is stuck
Although as Chris says, contracts aren't worth anything and in a salary cap sport, the power is with the player.
Would definitely improve our 13, which isn't too hard with our current backrow, would like to sign him, but wouldn't be too upset if he didn't sign.

I personally hope he stays and fights for his place because he’s a good player

I don’t think the power is with the player in this instance. As his contract winds down the balance will shift though. He could chuck a massive tantrum, but that’d make potential suitors look askance. And tbf, I don’t think he seems the type.
Hull didn’t release Abdull, Litten or Hadley out of the goodness of their heart or with the players’ careers progress at the forefront of their minds. Or if they did, it’s not a precedent I’d want Rovers to follow.
If he isn’t in Peters’ plans longer-term, then any potential fee will change to reflect that. Don’t want to be weakening the squad mid-season though. Could be worth another look at the end of the year - but the ooc cupboard is pretty bare, so he’d not be easy to replace.

All he has to do is refuse to play or train, what can Rovers or any club do?
I honestly think Radford did with Litten, will have been on a low wage, could have got a small fee, why else would he release him.
