| Quote ComeOnYouUll="ComeOnYouUll"Fages did nothing wrong. It was play on. I would have expected a Hull player to do the same thing had the roles been reversed. It was a very unfortunate incident for us but that's sport.
Fages had to take advantage and score the try, you play to the whistle.'"
Griffen clearly pulls up in agony, there are Sts players waving at the ref if Fages stops the play everyone would be saying great sportsmanship but he didn't so what does that say.

| People screamed to let Connor be FB. Now some are on his back already. How many times did we hear when the ball comes to Shaul our attack stops. So now we have a FB who can create tries with his passing of which he has on numerous times this season. Sometimes it doesn't come off that goes with the territory. I for one hope he continues in the same path. I think it's clear we need a couple of players added to this squad. Reynolds again very quiet until the last 20 when he showed what he can do. Am hoping he can carry that on. So on to Cas. Both teams will be physically and mentally tired. So up to us to get stuck in early and hopefully bring the points home.

| The game aside, and it’s not a popular opinion but I have sympathy for Griffin. The studio, I just wanted to turn it off. This stigma of “protecting the ball at all costs” just because your a hard, tough rugby player is such a dangerous concept.
When did player welfare jump out of the window ? Fuck the ball. You could clearly see Griffin go down in absolute agony. He didn’t offload or try to pass the ball, his release was clearly a response to a very serious injury. You could tell when he was 8-10 yards away from the saints players how bad it was.
The studio were not concerned about Griffin but instead went in on him for dropping the ball. Not a fan. I like saints as a team and Theo too, and really enjoyed the game. Really liking the direction Hull are taking and best of luck for the rest of the season. Your a noisy bunch

As I say it's unfortunate but the laws of the game were applied. The referee wasn't at liberty to stop the game. I've read some people say Fages should've taken a voluntary tackle, but what then? Hull take a tap penalty and hand the ball over? Or does the ref just ignore the offence and allow Fages to play the ball? We can't have laws just made up on the hoof. Same as the idea that Saints should've let Hull walk a try in. Nice thought but would make the game a bit of a farce.
The main thing is that Josh Griffin makes a full recovery as quickly as possible. Thankfully it wasn't a late match winning try.

Not saying any laws were broken its about the spirt of the game when a player goes down clearly in agony and Fages plays on.

Fully agree. Game is only stopped when the players welfare is at immediate risk, ie) knocked out. Griffin clearly got a bad injury, but stopping the game wasn't necessary to assist that player. Was an 8 month injury either way......

| No rules where broken. Suppose it comes down to sports manship. Player badly injured another player takes advantage.

This is the way it is in RL. Same as opposition players running at an injured man.
Tough, tough game.....

Griffin snapped his achilles, that was completely obvious. 6-8 months....

| Gutted about the result but super proud of the fightback. Amazing to be back in a stand of B&W's going berserk. So close to taking the lead ay 18-21 but got to say Saints better team overall. On to Cas we go, great to be getting back to games again.
