| Quote Fields of Fire="Fields of Fire"Totally gutted after today, to fight back to be within 3 points with 8 mins to go after the pressure St's put on us was unreal. Fages deserved all the poop after his display of total lack of sportsmanship, if he would of stopped the play everyone would be saying great sportsmanship but he didn't so what does that say. Our support was amazing today even with so few of us the noise was terrific. We watched game afterwards and it was a snails to our game. I'm very confident we will be in the mix at the end of the year.'"
Fages did nothing wrong. It was play on. I would have expected a Hull player to do the same thing had the roles been reversed. It was a very unfortunate incident for us but that's sport.
Fages had to take advantage and score the try, you play to the whistle.

Agree, anybody in any sport are told to play to the whistle,I thought you did exceptionally well to get back into the game with a real chance of winning, connors pass could have won you the game, intercepts are the risk players like connor take, some you win, some you lose.Think the best team won,but you certainly made it exciting viewing.Hope griffins injury isnt as bad as seems, top player.

| I thought the ref did ok yesterday, bad option by Connor, but Sneyd and Reynolds also have to take some responsibility for the early shift play.
I cant believe someone has suggested Shaul playing FB and moving Connor to centre, imagine much worse we be in attack

| I’ve not watched it back, but on the Griffin incident, it seemed obvious he was incapacitated, and the time lapse for the Frenchman sneakily scoring felt like slow motion, was it just my imagination, or could the referee have stopped the game immediately for our players welfare.

| Quote hesslefan="hesslefan"Connor can be annoying but I see little difference between him and Scarsbrook in their approach to the game, except the latter doesn’t get penalised as much. Scarsbrook consistently talks back to the referee. He has hands all over the ball player at the play the ball. Even when marker when the opposition are restarting after, say, a knock on he has hands on the man with the ball. Referees just ignore this.
Best team won but with a fair share of luck and some favourable runs of decisions from the ref. As soon as Hull got some similar decisions - when Saints were three scores up and after 50 minutes - we scored. Hull should have been more composed with the ball in hand but they were the ones having to push the game after the above.'"
Main difference is LMS (at best) is an above average plodding forward, he’s not being touted as potentially one of the best backs and a superstar in the League. Connor has the skill and level of intelligence (maybe) to not have to play these little games.....

Every player and ex player, your coach and every neutral fan has agreed that playing to the whistle was the right thing for Fages to do, however the Referee could have blown and stopped the game so your issue is with him, not Fages. There was nothing sneaky about it, he just did his job as a professional sportsman.

It was very sneaky, it reminded me of Pepe le Pew.

The only 2 options for the Ref, were play on or rule a knock on. In hindsight, the sporting option would be the knock on. The game rested on 2 similar incidents, I thought the Griffin one was very unlucky, he looked to have broken their line and had Swift outside him and probably would have scored, but they got the try. The second was obviously the interception, in the build up to it, from an excellent 40/20, the ball went through all of the spines hands to create an overlap, and a probable try but Grace intercepts, they score and win. The noise and support was fantastic and thanks to the team for an incredible fight back, as another poster said, to get back to within 3 points was unbelievable, I for one was proud to be there, as a Black and White, of the support and team

100% correct. I really can't see how you can argue otherwise. Let's just hope Griffin's injury isn't as bad as it looked.
We didn't lose the game because of that incident in any case. Saints were just a bit better on the day.

| Gutted that we lost after that brilliant fightback. The main plus for me is that we appear to be very close to being a real challenger for honours, especially when BH starts rebuilding the team. Hope Griffo is soon back in action.
