Quote: UllFC "Union don't chop and change their structure and events every 5 minutes like Rugby League does. Its February so its 6nations time as it has been for decades, teams are playing at home in their capital cities where the sport is popular in traditional kits. Its easy for casual fans to understand (even if the action itself is inferior)
With international league you have no idea when or where England will play next, after a successful 2013 world cup where they did get media attention they didn't play at home for over a year and then have only played a handful of times at home since.
We split Great Britain up with the intention of making 4 stronger teams yet the home nations rarely play each other and Scotland and Wales don't even play at home most of the time. So the whole change from GB to England was pointless.
I've also found in recent years my friends who are only casual fans of league have lost interest due to the ever changing format, you have to explain if the season will be splitting off into different leagues, why the playoff structure keeps changing, why there aren't draws anymore and people just switch off.'"
England rolls off the tongue easier, I think that's one reason, but soccer and RU have England, if it was GB Lions it wouldn't be as easy for me to support The Kangaroos then, so hope it stays as England. Go The Roos!
