I don't think it would after 2 failed assistants. powell was always a relatively safe choice IMO. Did some really good work at fev and had them playing some good stuff. Personally, I think the RFL should have some funded scheme to support SL assistants into head coach positions at lower league clubs. It's a far more sensible option for recruiting a head coach than an untried assistant
