very difficult to define 'afford it'. Salford can afford it today as Koucash will pay the money, if he walks tomorrow Salford go bang.

| Well this explains Hudgell's tweet from a few days ago. And if so, that means this measure has the backing of at least one other of the 'rebel' clubs rather than KashKow alone.

| It's an interesting idea and one that could work if administered properly. However the RFL is one of the poorest run administrations in the world of professional sport. I think it would benefit our game over here as we need to desperately find some way to get close to the Australian cap or we will always be light years behind.
If implemented right it could work. I suppose it's working out if it's a risk worth taking.

What did he tweet?
Gary Hetherington was making positive sounds about it, too and the [iimplication[/i seemed to be a few more would welcome it... from 2015 at least.

The issue there will remain one of money, rather than the level of the cap.
French football has a lot less money than English football and Paraguayan football has a lot less than either. CFL teams operate with budgets a fraction the size of those of NFL franchises. Sometimes you have to accept your relative limitations and try to adapt rather than trying to compete.

| Quote Chris28="Chris28"Looks like if you stamp your feet enough you get your way. I wonder how this will affect anything anyway. The bigger, richer clubs at the top will potentially get the superstars, the smaller, poorer clubs at the bottom will break the bank to get someone who will have no effect on their position in the league and clubs will be in and out of administration right left and centre.
How will championship clubs fit into this to make 2015 a level playing field?
A stupid idea built around Koukash stamping his feet long enough.'"
not as stupid as the new Salford mascot, disgusting self adulation.

| Should be looking to provide stability to the league IMO, not introduce further pressures.
For me the best thing they could do with the salary cap is too leave it as it is and make players who come from your own youth system exempt while they play for your club. That would encourage suitainable development.
