Artlink competition for Rugby Fans in Hull.

Competition deadline 31st March 2013

Artlink have launched a competition for Rugby Fans called “The Tournament Trail” to encourage fans to think about ‘What Your Heart Means to You.’

Fans are encouraged to show this through the use of pictures, photos and creative writing.

Partnered with Arts from the Heart and Hearty Lives Hull, two local artists attended all of last season’s Derby games and have since have created artwork inspired by the rugby games, the fans, the atmosphere and the passion behind the sport.

The website www.artsfromtheheart.artlink.uk.net/ contains all the information needed to get involved and is split into a different category for each team, making it easy to use and quick to upload. The website will display all artwork uploaded by fans.

The Prizes

Film maker Andrew Quinn has created a film commemorating Kirk Yeaman, specifically focussing on Kirk and his sportsmanship. This piece is in honour of Hull FC and has been donated as a prize to the person who contributes the best piece of artwork. Alongside, there will also be some framed stills from the film.

Text based graffiti artist Ollie Marshall has designed a piece of artwork based on the chants sung at KR games. This was inspired by the energy, solidarity and excitement that flowed through the game.

The tournament trail is part of the visual arts strand of Hearty Lives Hull www.hullpct.nhs.uk/pages/hearty-lives and Funded by the British Heart Foundation. For more info on the project contact Sarah Fisher at Artlink. Or visit www.artsfromtheheart.artlink.uk.net/
