| no sour grapes from me rovers where the best team today, it was agame of 2 halfs the 1st we had a heavy penalty count against us, 2nd was the same for rovers they are a bit further down the track when it comes to being ready for the season, im not supprised we have had a lot of players comming back from operations and internationals and a few players only joined the squad in january, from our point ill be glad if we come out injury free and ill take on the chin from the KR lads at work tomorrow cause thats all this game was about bragging rights for fans no one will even remember at the end of the season, simple well done rovers hats off

| Rovers were better today and deserved the win. Must admit when we started to come back it would have been amusing to beat them after being under the cosh for so much of the game. Not happy with the performance, as I was hoping to see the team gel and step up from last week, but no injuries and no complacency before the first game isn't too bad.

| dissapointed to lose, but it was a friendly, no points or trophies at stake, but that wont let the dobbins fans think they will take SL by storm, remember last season, all talk certainly no action!
would like to see seymour and holdsworth in the halves at leeds, heremaia and houghton share the hooking role
too many errors from our squad today and against a team who obviously valued this game more than us!
we need a hard hitting prop who can punch a hole in other teams defence, any spare cash for hock???
we can take more out of this loss and what we need to work on if we had won the game imo, plus no injuries is a small comfort

hicks hammered both teams for the same thing at leeds today

| Instead of moaning about how biased Radio Humberside are why not go to the game? Also the BBC have reduced it's funding for sports radio shows which means it could be that there won't be coverage of all the games in the future. If it really is that bad then why not write to the shows producer and highlight where you feel the programme needs improving.
As for the game, Rovers were clearly the better side in the first half, was a bit of a miss match even though on paper you'd have called it much closer. I know Hull replaced a few in the second half but it really was a reserve side that Rovers had out there for the final 30mins. I think the improvements in our side are clearly the defence but in honesty Hull didn't bring much to the table attack wise.
It's been said that Hull are a little one dimensional and don't have strike players anymore like Manu. I think Watts will be important to you with his offloads, as long as he's playing happy he'll cause a lot of teams trouble.
As you like to remind us, it is a friendly, it happened last year and the season went a bit better than ours!
Oh and as for the smoke bomb incident, not the best moment but hardly a massive issue, it is relatively harmless and only effected those that set it off. Had it been a flare or a firework I am sure it would have caused a bit of further investigation as to who done it!
At least the rugby's back aye!!!

| Bit annoyed with the loss today because that's all i'm gonna here at work till next derby. But overall it was a friendly and despite Thalers constant need to be centre of attention, It was a good game.
Think Seymour changed the game in the second half for us and honestly in my opinion think it should be Seymour and Holdsworth for Leeds and the right side Crooks and Lineham instead of Crooks and Arundel.

very agreeable coments, ive not read the full thread to get the jist of the posters on todays game. ill have a proper look tomorrow.
it always stings like a b!tch to loose the derby , but i reckon today was just what both team needed going into the final weeks over pre season. especially for hull, think the players have started to believe their own hype and forgot that rugby matches arnt won paper or in the gym for that matter.
the defence got a real good workout today and looked reasonable against a rovers team that was more up for this one than they were for all 3 derbies in 2012 put together.
had our ball retention in the second half been better, we would have probably taken the bragging rights, thats with out getting in to silly penalties weather they were right or wrong.
the team got shuffled around so much in the second half it was like gentle was getting desperate to find a combo that klicked but it has to be said that we looked most comfortable with Seymour and Horne and for much of the time they were working together rovers dint threaten hardly at all. which leaves gentle with some sleepless nights thinking over witch is our best way to set up. one thing that is most glaring over the two friendlys is that Holdsworth needs to have a much improved impact on games

Also forgot some interesting facts about what gentle said on Humberside that the team hadn't had an outdoor session all week due to the snow??
