Although pearson will continue to buy the players needed to improve the side immediately, he has also invested heavily in our academy and very much believes bringing our own players through to the first team is the future. The fact we are having to buy now is down to poor previous recruitment and zero investment in the academy over the years by the previous board. It will take a few years for the kids to start coming through but we have a promising 15s and 16s that will hopefully produce some stars of the future. As pearson has said, wigan are setting the benchmark in this area at present, its going to take some time to get to their level, but at least there is effort and money going in to try and make it happen.
