I take your advice on-board bud, but let just enjoy the moment eh?

47035_1386433761.gif We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_47035.gif |

| Well I thought that both teams where pretty solid defensively. However we did not take our oppertunities to close out the game when we had them. We had a 3 on 1 and the ball stuck in the hands of Wellens, great offload from Perry but Wellens managed to gift it to Hull, then a break away try and a few penalties and the game was gone.
Not watched alot of Hull this year, but I thought you ran with alot of energy. Your number 9 gave great distribution. I also thought your number 3 looked dangerous with ball in hand, really outstepped our defence a few times. It was very much a carbon copy of the Huddersfield game for us Saints fans, even to the break away try and penalties gifted away.
I thought we lacked a leader to control the game when we where 10 - 4 up. The thing is even when Roby returns I don't think he is that leader. Great player but not the leader. Without that leader we are a confidence side and right now our confidence is down.
I also come back via the m62. And sorry but there is not alot Saints can do about motorway maintance. how that is our fault is beyond me, but still got back to leed in an hour and 10, following the diversion signs, so it was not too bad a delay.

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason.

| It was a great carnival atmosphere Friday and we enjoyed our win.
But although the tries were good to watch, make no mistake it was our defence that won us the game. For a long spell before and after the Gardner try they hit our line with everything they had, they looked dangerous and everyone feared the worst. But we held out heroically and went up there end and equalised. After that that they were never the same attacking threat, yes they scored a second try but the whole dynamics of the game changed. we knew we could take their best shot and stand up to it. We could see the confidence drain from them.
Had they gone 2 scores up when they were running hot they would have ran in more I'm sure, we were on the rack. But they never. and we grew in confidence as they became devoid of ideas and a leader.
Our defence is for me the big difference versus last year, and its getting better. When Gentle brings our attack up to scratch we could be dangerous.
2 final points - Hail Whiting he was immense. and young Ellis.... well the guy could be one of the best ever, he comes on the pitch, plays like he's 10 years older, runs the show, injects pace and urgency, great vision for a young lad and tackled like Arthur Keegan !! For me he's a ringer for a young Andy Gregory, I pray he brings us the same success. We could end up building a team around this guy for years to come.

At least someone thought we were dangerous! The way our halves played we wouldn't have broke down an U11s defence

It was clearly over from where I was! Like you say it doesn't really matter anyway
