Quote: Jake the Peg "I hope you're right but the last time we appointed an assistant coach who had no experience of being a head coach at the top level it didn't quite work out. I'm also unsure why you believe that rovers appointing a coach with no head coach experience is any different to us doing the same
As for mcrae, I'm not saying he wasn't a decent appointment (and advocated him coming in as a DOR many months before pearson even took over), but my point was that I'd rather have spent more on a proven coach than having 2 positions which at the majority of clubs would be covered purely by a head coach (albeit our owner's lack of experience in the game probably drove the need for a rugby person to be brought in). Having said all of that, getting rid of rule and flatman would have made the financial savings but I doubt an experienced coach would have wanted a DOR in situ'"
I don't, just making a play on the words for rovers coach.
I Agree on second point but I think it will be a good move, let's face it can't it get much worse? I hope not.
I think the club is laying good foundations again with positive strides forward and a will to achieve far better than we have done recently and something we have all cried out for, success. (well better than eighth anyway ha ha)
