Quote: JMR "Nines is a great format (much better than 7s) and the event deserved a much bigger crowd.
The 'twist' is that teams have the option to go for a 3 point 'power play' in place of a conversion. However, a failure means the opposition then re-start the game 70m downfield rather than at halfway (for a missed drop goal conversion).
Got to say, Hull FC were a major disappointment. They seemed to lack the composure of the other teams and coughed up a lot of unforced errors. There was 'flashes' from the likes of Chris Green and Jack Briscoe but only Lewis Brown would have been in contention for a 'team of the night'.
Very impressed with a couple of the Rovers players, in particular Liam Salter and Kristian Bell, but arguably the real star was the young Scottish winger, David Scott, who far outshone his lethargic opposite number Peter Fox.
Castleford were the best-drilled side of the night though and had a couple of outstanding performers, Greg Eden and Ryan Brierly in particular.'"
wouldn't disagree with most of that but i did think liam cunningham looked by far hull's best player before his knee gave way half way through the 2nd game.
