| Quote WormInHand="WormInHand"I've never heard anything as shameful as the "respect" from your lot today. I certainly don't think it does "always" happen. You've given a poor example, as well, as the vast majority of Hull fans still regard and hold Briscoe in great esteem for his sevices to us. No injury has ever been celebrated at Hull in recent memory, unless you can provide evidence otherwise?'"
I'm not sure if you kept the said game on your Sky +, but the camera picked up certain Hull fans waving him (Briscoe) off the pitch. And I'm not sure it was because they hold him still in such high regards. As said, it happens, it's not right, but it does.
Also, I know you said in recent memory, but some Hull fans still rejoice to this day in Millward having his jaw broken at Wembley and I'm certain Andy Dannat was held in a smilair high regard to Briscoe after he 'sorted out' Hanley back in the day. Was that a broken jaw if my memory is correct?

| The ambulance was weaving through the spectators after the match. Must have taken their time trying to get it back in before it was called. Poor Longy.

Thing is Churchill - you are right in that there are a few morons who support every team - i.e. the idiot (be it Black and White or Red and White) who chucked the bottle today. Or the brain-dead few who waved bye bye to Briscoe, don't have footage, so can't comment. Or the lighter-chucker at Wigan.
But what was so shameful was that it was [iall[/i the East Stand wishing Long well today. Thousands of them. The sheer numbers make the difference and undermine you argument - you [ihave[/i no argument with this one.

He's had a bad run of luck with injuries hasn't he. I quite agree, poor kid.

| Long has been injury prone throughout his entire career, he's just unlucky in that respect.

I'm not trying to argue the point, I think we've agreed it happens. Be it by a few or a few thousand.

Comprehanda?'"
I see you are still spouting your usual drivel.
If Long had turned up, put his feet up and basically said, right I am here for a holiday, then yes, he would have been a waste of money. I can't remember there being much opposition to the signing of Long when it was announced, hence indicating that no one thought it was going to be a waste of money then.
Chris Thorman was a waste of money as he was not fit for purpose.
Sean Long hasn't let the side down, he has copped a few bad injuries.
But hey, you keep beleiving that your think you know more than you actually do, that your personal crusade actually means something and that you being "up for a protest" will actually change anything.

| Quote berrigans bitch="berrigans bitch"The problem with your example is that both Fitz & Menzes did not have the same injury record as Longy...You do know that Longy played less than half a season for Saints in his final season there don't you
My comprehension of injury prone is not impaired when discussing Longy, in fact it is supported has his record over the last 3 seasons have proven!
Now if you want to discuss/debate fair enough, however if you want to sit like a keyboard warrior calling people stupid etc, then go find some-one else to do it with because it bores me.'"
Bounding out comments like you did on the originating post of this thread is the classic faceless keyboard warrior.
St's had Kyle Eastmond waiting in the wings. When Long was injured they had no need to rush him back as there was a more than adequate replacement for him. St's also knew he was leaving and will have wanted to give Eastmond plenty of game time but still in the knowledge that Long was there should Eastmond not be as they had hoped. Had Eastmond not had the talent or been there at all, Long would have had far more game time in 2009.
Longs injury record has not been excessive until his time at Hull. If it had been pulled muscles or strains, then the injury prone tag would probably have been justified. But a dislocated elbow, broken thumb and todays as yet unconfirmed (but likely dislocation) injury are hardly run of the mill ageing injuries.
What bores me, is fans who prefer to scapegoat players when things are completely beyond that players control.

Tell you what bores me those who band around the word "scapegoat" as soon as anyone dares to criticise a Hull player.

and if it was cockayne, you would all stand up and clap him off!!!!
most of you were wishing he was in jail for most of the match, leaving a wife and child to fend for themselves (i am only joking)
as churchill says it happens at most matches, no one knows how badly someone is injured when they cheer, if after o'meeley's hit on netherton had left him injured, then would we be saying the same thing about the hull fans who were cheering!!!
i wish shaun long a speedy recovery, a lot of FC fans calling him, yet if he'd of stayed on the pitch you would have probably won
