surely this is a better option then paying a big fee for either Sammut or Chase unless there willing to sign long deals.

every season someone falls out of favour in the NRL then come over here and do well. off the top of my head Lauatiti, Head, Bird, Sammut and Dobson have done it in recent years. so unless we can get a good deal on the two mentioned i'd be tempted to take the risk and wait and see who becomes available.

My order of preference of those mentioned would be would be 1) Chase 2) Sammut 3) Reserve grade Ozzie.

To be honest, I am probably alone on here in thinking Obst is a decent player and would be OK for us as a stop gap.

I think Chase was always more like for 2012 than this season and as for Sammutt the issue is paying a big fee for someone who might not want to stay long term.

There are still signing we could make that would strengthen our sqaud and halves. For instance sign a fullback and release Tansey to cover 6,7 and 9.
