Quote: PAUL M "I think he was looking for Lyne outside him and did not see Berro until late, Berro was never quite up with the play from what I saw and arrived late at which point Yeaman thought it best to hang on.'"

It was right in front of me and Berro was open for the pass. Passing to either Lynne or Berrigan was always going to be a better option than hanging on to the ball. Sums up Yeaman's limitations IMO.

Well after reading the match thread it seems i picked my holiday times wisely icon_smile.gif Was in a bar watching the Leeds game and it was certainly a nervy time having to rely on score updates from sky.

Pretty much how I saw it and the main crux of what I've been getting at. Even if Berrigan hadn't have scored, he was in a better position than Yeaman, which is the bottom line for me. Berrigan could possible have gone in for the try himself, been able to in turn put either Lyne or Yeaman himself back in as the play unfolded, or at the very least just gained more ground for the next play.

Quote: carl_spackler "Again, fair enough. I'd also like to see it again to see just how good a chance it was for Berrigan. I just think, as I've said, that when you're running at a man and have a teammate in space, you give him the ball. It should be the natural instinct as in the vast majority of cases it's the best chance of a try. It would have been different if Yeaman had been going for a space or the corner, but with a man to beat he took the wrong option.'"

Well, I finally got around to watching last week's Boots 'n All today, and it was in Jon Wells' analysis. Whilst I will concede it was by no means a certain try for Berrigan, I'm more convinced than ever that the pass was not only on, but the best option.

Agree, I'd advise anyone who thinks the pass wasn't on to watch it again, it quite clearly was.
