Its deliberately a generalisation. Those points were definitely considerations for people, but IMO, the war and the recession were the two [imajor [/i (or put another way, "largely"icon_wink.gif issues for Labour in the last election.
And unemployment particularly hasn't been helped by said recession, in which ironically the UK performed very well in. Just behind Canada in second place I believe of the "G" nations.
And Labour, through programs like BSF which the Tories have just put the sword too, were trying to improve schools while maintaining jobs in the infrastructure industry.
