First thing to do is get rid of the terrible Thomson router.

He wont have the thomson on BT. The thomson router on karoo packages is truly awful though and should be reserved as an emergency router should your main one fail. You can pick up decent netgear routers off ebay for next to nothing now the DG834GT models work very well.

We find we have to reset the router every few days as it seems to leak speed otherwise.

Karoo mid, for my postcode with adsl2 they say i can get upto 12mb

I use the Belkin N1 Vision its got an LCD display on the front telling you the upload and download speeds im getting
