I haven't lived in Hull since I left as a 19 year old and I remember my own school Bransholme high been pretty rough at the best of times especially when it came to bullying/nicking dinner money/dinner tickets etc('82-86). However it sounds like things are now even worse in some schools and those in charge just aren't coming up with solutions to eradicate the problems. Even worse when a school comes up with an excellent solution to one of those problems that offers a modicum of control for parents yet a councillor does huge damage by not getting hard evidence to back up his claims or likely even approaching the head first. Has the hierachy of the school system & the schools themselves got so bad in Hull?

As far as I see it unless somebody in power has the kahunas to accept that the problems at hand (even just at a school level) are affecting the long term success & reputation of the city as a whole & do something drastic about it, then things will not improve one iota. This Minns muppet obviously hasn't a clue.

I look back & think myself fortunate that where I live I managed to get my son into our closest high school(a comprehensive) were any forms of abuse just weren't tolerated and dealt with very quickly. They even had the older ones sorting out some of the issues which was backed by parents, do they have any schemes like that in the schools to help alleviate/ early reporting of bullying?
