Quote: Fc Til I Die 316 "Friday was a poor effort but i still feel we are going to do ok. If you look at the season we have yet to be convincingly beated...apart from saints away we have been involved in some of the closest games of the season all winning or loosing by a few points...so to those who are no longer supporting the boys or boycotting i say this....why dont you get on with it and spit your dummy out! the sign of a true fan is to support through the good and the bad. Old faithful says "in any kind of weather" so i for one will continue to give them 100% support and for those who dont...they are better off without your negativity!!!'"
No , we've got a right to expect more. We've got into the position off the field , grade A and all that , as a result of a lot of good work , the new stadium and us loyal supporters being there in numbers in the hope that we'll kick on and start to win things. Every other club in the league would kill to be in our excellent state - off the field. We are in danger of wasting it though. We've gone backwards because of a poor recruitment policy. This hasn't happened just in the last two years either. We should have been trying to improve even when we had some success but we sat back on our "local" laurels and failing coaching dynasty. If you're going to change a coaching set up change the lot. It's impossible for us to be the best in SL with 20 home grown local lads. Develop them yes but as part of a coherent plan and discard them if they're not going to make it. There can't have been a recruitment
plan for some time. John Ledger in the YP can see it fallen Super League giants Hull as the black and whites dropped deeper into the shadow of cross-city rivals Hull Kingston Rovers
How significant is the signing of Craig Fitzgibbon?
Very. The 31-year-old Sydney Roosters second row was a member of Australia's World Cup squad last season and his experience will be invaluable next year.
With two more top overseas signings in the pipeline Hull look to have a promising season ahead for 2010.
That doesn't help this year, though,
because there is just too much dead wood within their ranks. It would be a surprise if some of the familiar faces who played on Saturday were still at the KC Stadium next year because too few of them look to have what it takes to help take Hull where they want to be."
from his match report.
Hopefully the message is getting through and the tough ,to some unpalatable ,decisions will be taken to get our club as successful on the field as we seem to be off it. Simply saying everything in the garden is rosey is as bad as supporting KR! I hope Fitzgibbon isn't too old and deperately hope that the rumour of Orford is true. We are in desperate need. Lets hope the second signing is a high profile but
young, please, centre.
