For home games in particular, it's simply because Richard Agar doesn't come up to the commentary position for the post-match interview so Doc has to go downstairs to the Media Room to conduct that.
By the time that is done, if he was to wait around for a player as well we wouldn't get Rich's out before the end of the programme as he has to climb all the way back to the top of the West Stand. Despite having a second ISDN point in the tunnel, we are not permitted the access to that by Hull FC which IS afforded us by Hull City.
We'd love to do both but the coach interview is ALWAYS the #1 priority, something I'm sure you'd agree with.
It's purely an issue of timing. Not sure what the situation's going to be away from home as last week wasn't an ideal benchmark as the set-up wasn't the best although I believe it was another case of the interview area being nowhere near the commentary point.
