| Having read & learnt what has occurred to Matt on buying & owning the stadium along with the club he
Must be a little let down & miffed at the operational inadequacies of the new build. In short he may also
be embarrassed when he bought in good faith !
In contractual terms he has experienced " Latent Defects" a term used in construction contracts.
Contracts never cover all things, they do include all itemized things at prices quoted, or a fixed capital sum or cost plus, the latter being day work & materials at cost which runs until monies run out !
So Poor Matt probably has to pick up the costs etc, he may be able to get some monies back but time & proof may well be in contract arbitration !
So, for me I would hope & like to see all supporters show some form of public appreciation to him after one year on for ALL that he has done & had to put up with, that would go a long way to make him feel truly appreciated. How that could be done I am not sure.
Many Thanks Matt if you ever read this !

| He had months of due diligence time.
Some of these things just happen in a new build.
He gets loads of appreciation. I've never heard a bad word saidvto be honest.
I'm not sure he needs a cheer squad.

I agree, Ellis has nothing but positive comments about him and I am 100% sure that he will want supporting in the form of club engagement.
That will be attending as many home games as possible, buying merch/beer/food and engaging with social media.
He’s doing a good job but as said he doesn’t need a cheer squad he just needs fans to engage with the club he’s invested in as much as possible (which appears to be happening).
Ultimately, if the team keep winning I can only see the fan base steadily growing this season.

| The best accolade I can give Matt is that he's totally got me excited about the future of Trinity and what we can achieve .
Most of my time following Trinity and I go back over 40 years it's always been about survival and making do on limited funds .
Whether we succeed or not isn't really the point , it's the intent and the ambition I've bought in to and Matt has given me that already .
A Challenge Cup victory at Wembley wouldn't go amiss before I depart this earth mind .

I agree. I haven't felt this positive about the club in a long time.

I tried to point this out a few weeks back but as always someone says “no it didn’t” or “I don’t believe that” etc
Some of the work done inside the East Stand is well below what is acceptable and should never have been signed off or agreed to.
However Matt Ellis has the whole of the supporter community behind him and as others have said earlier, he’s got people excited about Wakefield Trinity’s future

| Matt Ellis has been great for the club but I do feel as a fan I have become less attached to Trinity.
We've been paupers for so long and simultaneous strugglers that it was something special to religiously follow Trinity home and away and pump in every spare penny I could muster to help the club. Now I'm just part of a bunch of bandwagon jumpers following a club awash with money, expected to win week in week out worrying about which part of the ground should be upgraded next.
It's April and I've still got £50 of club shop vouchers from Christmas to spend ! My only shop purchase this year has been Matty Ashurst gear. It's no longer crucial to input my meagre contributions.
I've really forgot what it was like during Hadfield's days for comparison. I think I might need therapy.

| You only have to read the forums on here to see the positivity around the club and appreciation the fans have for him.
Also the ticket sales are helping to improve that, and hopefully if we are to get back in super league next year, can only see the 5500 number for this year, being beaten

That is the big question though.
Are the 5,000 still buying next season and the season after when the prices are higher and we won't be winning every game??
Time will tell.

If u18's aren't free then I doubt it, but if we get the paying adults numbers we got this year than that's a start.

I suppose I'm the type of fan Matt has looked to attract back regularly , I've always gone along in a nice hot sunny Sunday afternoon kind of way at least two or three times a season and caught most of the sky games .
I was a bit keener as a younger man and followed us all over the North of England in the 80's but it tailed off as life's responsibilities come calling as you get older .
For all that I know the club is in my blood because the defeats hurt , some more than others but none the less .
The one thought has always rattled me after all these years of not seeing very much , " why is it never us ? " , almost everybody else has seen at least a Challenge Cup final at Wembley but not us since 1979 .
I tend to think that any success that Matt's backing provides is long overdue and anybody with Trinity blood in them deserves it .
Just as long as we don't become spoilt and entitled and remember where we've come from I'm very cool with Matt's backing .

| There was a point early in our 98 promotion season where I felt immensely proud and positive about the club. We were playing attractive RL and had some genuine stand out match winners like Casey, Bostock, Fuller, Kenworthy, Adam Hughes (jeez, there were more than I thought) who were connecting with the Trinity faithful in a way we hadn’t seen before.
It was a different type of feeling though, we were good on the pitch and we looked like we could do something special and after being artificially demoted just a couple or so seasons before there was the sense of righting an injustice. However, we knew we weren't wanted and a battle to get what we deserved was coming which drew all the supporters in so we could fight as one.
This time there’s a real sense that after the make do and mend of a number of previous well meaning owners, who’s hands were tied financially, we now seem to be in the embryonic stages of a genuine awakening of a true Rugby League slumbering giant. It’s not just happening on the field it’s everywhere about the club and the owner seems to be scouring the horizons in search of anything that will substantially take us forward.
We are positive in our scepticism and guarded in our hope!
Our dreams have been shattered too many times but I genuinely think this is it folks!
