Me too, but he now has the incentive to work hard and show he deserves a further contract.

This guy was very highly rated a couple of years ago at Bradford. Hooker is an area where I think we have been poor at for the last 3 or 4 years so think he will be a good signing

I think 1 year contracts makes sense. We look to be signing a squad which will compete strongly at the top of the championship, but they will have a lot to prove over the year that they will also be able to compete at a super league level. We've shown over the past few years that having a championship level squad in Super League doesn't work.

Basically from what I'm told, he signed for us when we were still SL using a get out clause. We are not SL now but it seems he wants to honour the deal despite actual SL clubs being interested. That said he's only giving us a year, and you can't blame him.

I suspect we've had to give Keighley a small pay off, as technically his get out clause is void in our case.

I believe he's very highly rated.

I can't remember where I read it but I thought he signed last season but Keighley blocked it as they were still fighting to stay in the league.
But now they are not he is free to sign.

He was very decent for us and many of use were sad that he was allowed to leave since he'd come through our academy system.
