With all the developments off the field and turmoil on it, it reminds me of Doncaster RLFC many years ago.
It’d almost be worth a documentary remake based on Wakefield Trinity and how it’s fallen from grace over the decades from the Cup winning days to playing Australia at Belle Vue to promotion and million pound games to almost financial oblivion to the current crisis with the RL records being broken for ‘nillings’ and potentially not winning a game all season in its 150th year of existence just when it’s finally being financially able to rebuild its ageing stadium….

In the fabulous "book of heroic failures", that Doncaster team were named as the worst team ever, if the book gets a reprint I doubt this wakey team would get in due to the "heroic" qualification requirement?

| It could never happen under that title because Sunday is now one day we seldom play matches.

| A great watch, worked with quite a few of the Donny team (including Gaz Ellis dad and uncle) who are still doing well. My brother in the Fev team but oh how you could do with a Huyton in the league.

| I remember the Doncaster coach, Malcolm (Billy) Yates. from Stanley/Wrenthorpe area, I believe, and a really nice bloke.
