From the articles doing the rounds about the IMG vote, MC's programme notes also say:

"Finally, I would urge you all to keep supporting the team and the club. You have no idea how much this helps the team and the staff trying their hardest to improve things. There is nothing worse than continually being beaten round the head by your own ‘fans’ never mind other clubs.

"The only way we will get through this is by us all pulling in the same direction for the good of the club. Negativity is not required and will ultimately only lead to one thing. The demise of the club. Support the players, support the staff, and when it’s all over, look back and tell yourself that you did absolutely everything you could do to help the club through this period."

Another dig at the clubs supporters, a regular theme with communication from Michael in recent years.

Yes Michael you saved the club some years ago, thank you for that. You have also put together the worst squad super league has ever seen, and had us relegated with a whimper. You are not immune from criticism. These "fans" you try and alienate are the one who buy STs, merchandise, pints in the ground etc, happening to disagree with you on some things does not change the fact that these people are fans that are spending their hard earned to watch this lot each week.

The simple answer for the club is to not give the fans the sticks to hit you around the head with

The owners needs to take ownership of the dire situation THEY have put the club in, and that the only really losers from this are the fans who they continually berate, diminish, and blame like some terrible toxic relationship

The sooner Carter is gone from the club, the quicker we can rebuild the toxic empire he has created

He isn't having a dig at the supporters. He's pointing out that negativity towards the players and staff only makes it worse.

Nothing wrong with voicing opinion, in fact John M often says he welcomes it, but just blank negativity which often comes from some fans is just not helpful.

However, I think he's naive if he thinks this will change it

He has adopted the current theory of don’t take any responsibility for your errors by passing the blame onto others. The demise of the club is entirely their fault, I don’t remember them asking the supporters for their advice on the club’s strategy on signing’s etc. We all know this is his well trodden fall back position. I am not sure he ever got over having to sack Chester because of supporters pressure.

This is massive imo. Whether this is our last season in SL or just another bump in the road, fans acting as they are will not help in the slightlest.

We are ultimately the ones who pay the wages - either by attending the games or paying for our Sky subscription - and we have the right to complain if the product is defective.

If it was any other business delivering the product we are currently seeing, they would not be in business for much longer.

We have employees of the club who are not performing. In the real world they would be facing the sack. It is a privilege to play sport and get paid for it.

I have supported Wakey for nearly 20 years and on Sunday I just couldn’t be bothered and didn’t care when we lost. I cannot recall ever thinking that before. I had similar feeling last night seeing my football team get annihilated for the second game in a row.

I used to look forward to games and work my life around them. Not any more.

And then we get the comments from the club…..makes me think “ is it all worth it”!

I would suggest that those at the top of the club should be telling the fans (their customers), just what they are going to do / are doing to change the dire situation that we are in.
Without a change of direction, we are going to be anchored to the foot of SL and subsequently relegated and it is up the management and coaching staff to tell the fans what we should expect - in essence, they have to manage our expectations.
The situation is that we have played 9, lost 9 and with our next 2 fixtures against the 2 best sides in the comp, this is soon going to be played 11, lost 11 and possibly THE worst aspect is that we are managing a paltry 5 points per game, that's F I V E.

Yes, the situation is better if everyone remains positive but, this is Titanic moment and if someone doesn't shout ICEBERG and the captain of the ship doesn't change course, we are bloody sunk.

I'm all for not panicing but, doing nothing to change our course is not an option.

Having a dig is exactly what he’s doing. And whilst he might be right that negativity doesn’t help things there is a way of doing things to help that situation and that isn’t it by a long way. In fact it appears to have further alienated many ‘fans’, including this one. Although i have to say his statement doesn’t surprise one iota.

I agree with this. In my career I game across plenty of accountants who didn’t appreciate or understand the customer.

I can't believe people are still taken in by his utter contempt for the fans, he as no feelings for the fans, he cares nothing about the club or the fans, if he did he'd do something about the current situation. This bloke is taking the p out of everyone.

Negativity.
Prime examples are Kevin Proctor and Renouf Atoni. They are being paid. Fans are not. Their apparent total lack of effort and interest, time on the field of play, has a negative effect on people’s attitudes.
17 players giving 100% and losing shows fans players are giving effort and creates a positive memory.

Just a couple of points, J M has said he welcomes social media interactions with the fans But will Not respond to online Abuse, you can’t blame anyone but the abusers for that. I honestly believe he will listen to constructive criticism but not abuse.
Hull FC owner has also made a public plea for the Hull fans to get behind and support his club during their current crisis,, I’m not sure if he received the same amount of abuse from the Hull fans as Some Trinity fans dish out to MC and JM. Perhaps the Hull fans are a more tolerant lot.

We the supporters must stop being negative about all aspects of the club and accept what we are given without question because to not do so is tantamount to treason. It is a shame he does not adopt the same standards when he writes or speaks about us, we are not an inconvenience we will still be paying our money long after he leaves.
