The original system was unfair to those clubs operating with an Academy because they had a bigger playing pool albeit inexperienced.

As it stands our teams should be ok to go there barring any unvaxed players. God knows come the start of the season though

Great news, stops the ability of teams to fake issues when they don’t like the look of their injury situation or fixture congestion.
Some of the top teams with huge squads compared to Trinity were shameful in their use of the Covid clause last year.
Great to see some credibility restored and when needed more young players blooded.
Saints, Leeds, Cas and Salford will be gutted they may have to fulfil their fixtures.

Excellent news. Even if it ends up impacting us it’s absolutely the right thing to do. Some clubs absolutely embarrassed the sport last season - Cas, Saints, Salford and Leeds the main culprits for me.
The gamesmanship around the fixtures leading up to the Challenge Cup final was a disgrace

This is my argument when folk bang on about Salford having a decent squad!
Take away their ability to dodge game last year and they may have got close enough to give Leigh some hope and then who knows.
I’ve never disliked Salford in the past but they took the mick out of Covid, they produce zero players and they spend money they clearly do not have. I’m afraid that at the moment they are the only SL club I want to see relegated, they are a waste of a space. |
