| One player who has improved during the horrendous season we have had is Lee Kershaw. This kid has courage and a tremendous work rate and is also a good reader of the game. He can spot interceptions and whilst they don't always stick when they do the result is usually a try. He's got pace to burn and doesn't shirk the tackling side of the job. I believe he's out of contract at the end of the season, the club should do what is right and reward him for improving his game in what has been difficult times.

| Has a strong carry and a genuine turn of pace.
I was bemused by his decision to run at Mamo for his try rather than take the easy option but ultimately it paid off.
He won’t be on a big wage and I think it’s clear you probably need to carry 3 specialist wingers in your squad.
He just seems to have gained confidence in himself and that’s very good to see.

With the ball he's great.
The development area for him is defense. High ball and line management in particular.
He's improving and he think he has much more in him. Which is great for us.

| Wasn't he in the newspapers last season saying he had to take a job delivering parcels claiming he wasn't earning 'minimum wage' as a rugby player? MC disputed this, called his bluff on offering a bigger contract and then it all turned out that he signed for another year. At the time I thought it was great, Kershaw was decent but nothing brilliant and wouldn't be missed. This season he has improved a hell of a lot and while not a superstar, his place is more needed / guaranteed. By the end of next season if he keeps putting the effort in I can see him being a player all clubs want.

| To the question of how fast.
I timed both him and TJ on their run.
I did it in a very amateur way when they crossed specific lines so it gave a reasonable comparison.
Tom was faster but there wasn't much in it.

After two ACL's its remarkable that he has retained his pace. It looked like Widdop was going to catch him but then he just pulled away. It's looks so effortless. Kershaw I like, he is the typical Trinity winger, strong, robust and determined. His body is a straining when he runs but certainly can shift. As he starts backing himself more he will be a first choice winger for us. Stuff still to learn, buts he's relatively fresh in his top fligh career.

With regard to Lee's try yesterday, it was the level of 'maturity' in the last 20 metres, instead of just going straight he had a swerve in his step which wrong footed the opposition. Good to see on the video, even better live
One thing though, these players have it easy, us fans make every tackle, catch every ball, make every run, the players share it between 13 of them and have 4 subs. I came away from the game completely knackered!

Pretty much it. TJ is simply a natural and always was. Injury has been his only weakness, the rest was easily rectified.
Kershaw has to work and always will but as reward god gave him a body made from granite.
TJ just seemed to coast yesterday, it looked like he had another 20% in reserve, amazing.

| It was noticeable that TJ didn't seem to be carrying as much ball out of defence as he's traditionally done which is a good thing, Kershaw seemed to have at least one carry in each set and played with real effort throughout. 2 Great wingers tries yesterday both did well in defence - thought toms catch of the kickoff under pressure at the end was immense

Yes. You could see the difference yesterday.
Kershaw is an absolute sprinter. Quick of the mark because he's got power. That also helps him gain ground against tackles in front of him. He powers away but has to hold on as the fuel starts to die.
Tom is quick but takes a few strides to get to top speed, more like a 200 metre runner. He can hit top speed and keep going and even go up a gear when pushed.
Great to see them both get a long run yesterday.

| Highlights from both tried
Widdops pathetic attempt at tapping Tom's ankles when he started to leave him for dead and speedster allegedly Ashton trying to catch up with Kershaw and fell in a heap as not fast enough!
