| Next up, SAINTS, these lads don't ease up, we cannot think & play as fast as them or at their speed ?
It's going to hurt us as fans & confirm what the rest of SL think of us ?
Our problem is the players are average say for 3 or 4 of them, the coaches are Not Prooven, we pay for these to meet a budget !
We cannot think outside the box, ie, why not terminate 2 or 3 & use the combined salaries to pay for a proven coach this getting
More from the fewer rather than less from the many. ?
However, Carter is wakefield through & through, he is a decent man & thus will not be ruthless & sack anyone ?
So we will soldier on - struggle but one day he will loose by this behaviour as the law of averages work/fall the other way & relegation
Is the outcome, maybe we are now walking into this by waiting for mid season of end of season crisis ?
This pains me but that / these are the facts.

| You can’t just terminate contracts. You’d need to pay people off snd then have no money to do what you suggest. We are where we are. We look light in the forwards, too small with batch, Pitts and crowther a all on at the same time. arona isn’t a prop and Tupou just isn’t making the right choices when 2v1. Senior is there for his speed but is used as the worst battering-ram known to man (not his fault). Another ok first 40. Then we fall off due to do much defending. Normally I’d still be upbeat and think I’d know what to do to change stuff, but apart from hoping Battye snd Wood really give us some spark, I’m lost.

Agree with everything you say Mable and would also add Tanginoa isn't a prop either yet we continue to use him as one even though Tangata was in the 21 man squad. Chris Green for his size doesn't seem to make much of an impact when he comes on either so what is the answer? Hopefully getting Battye fit might help but there are other areas too as you mention - what's happened to Tupou? A clear chance to shoot for the line and he blows it again, something is not right.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |
|
| Chester has put faith in the same line up three times now against SL opposition.
We are matching teams for a half but then seem to have a 20 minute spell where we fall to pieces. During those 20 minute spells we seem to lack a combination of discipline and resilient defence.
Something needs to change. There are a few key issues with what is happening on field.
Our 9 options are absolutely killing us. I won’t bag Crowther too much as it’s not his natural position but Josh Wood offers absolutely 0 in attack or effective distribution. We have been playing a 13 at 9 for 3 weeks now when we have a natural 9 in the stands who had a good spell against Dewsbury in pre season. I’m truly scratching my head on that one. I fear if Josh Wood is injured then we will see Crowther and Ashurst at 9 next week. It might be worth looking at the championship or for a decent 9 to bring in because if Wood is out long term and we are relying on a 33 year old 9 who hasn’t been able to run in 4 weeks to solve our roblems we are in deep baba.
The forwards just aren’t doing the business especially the second rowers. Again today Ashurst throwing all his body into a wall of players running his lines on the inside. I don’t know whether Miller is also the issue here but these two seem to have a magnet to find each other. When the ball needs to miss out Ashurst it hits him in the basket and he gets clobbered. Pitt’s always seems to be driving it in but not actually getting very far. We then have Green who along with Pitts/Ashurst can’t break a paper bag atm. It’s gone on for a few weeks now and we have players like Walker/Aydin sitting games out probably would bust a gut to play and offer something different at least. At this stage I’d play Eseh in front of Green.
Arona (like him and good player) isn’t a prop. Square peg I’m afraid.
Tupou is making terrible decisions on the break. Leeds he passes into full back with a clear run to line and today he didn’t draw the winger who was stood flat footed in no mans land and got an early pass away which was simply the wrong call. A lot of the players I’ve mentioned are the wrong side of 30 too and living off past glory. In Tupou case we have Arundel in the wings and Croft and there needs to be some serious consideration to bring in some fresh bodies.
So, blunt forwards (I’ll excuse Fifita and Westerman), no actual 9 and a few players off form. It’s a recipe for struggle.
With 6 days to saints I do t envy the coaching team as it seems like a hell of a mountain to climb looking at the next 3/4 fixtures. I think we need to switch a few things up and get some fresh bodies in like Walker/Tangata/Aydin/Arundel/Bowes/Kaye for starters and saints is probably the best game where most will expect us to get a pasting.
I can’t handle much more of seeing us not been in a contest when the final quarter is upon us. It’s soul destroying.
Unfortunately we are in the habit of losing yet again.

| Salary cap spend generally dictates where you will finish in the league.
If we stay in SL it’s a good season.
If you expect more this year then you are kidding yourself. It was never going to be any different.

| I'm fairly sure we will be missing both Max and Tom due to HIA protocols and Josh Wood due to injury and also suspect that Tanginoa will cop a ban for the high shot yesterday, so some new faces are likely and undoubtedly deserve a chance to prove themselves. I think we will see Rocky at full back, with Kaye coming in for Tom, assuming Kaye is fit ?? Bowes should be given a chance at 9 with Tangata coming in for Tanginoa.

But we all know Chesters preference of playing people out of position so your suggestions aren't likely

Why will Tanginoa cop a ban? Almost identical to Isa on Johnstone so it was accidental and part of the tackle surely?

Have to agree with you there, Kendal had plenty of time along with the VR to review it, and the best he could come up with was to put it on report.

I said this at the time and the Leeds game too I know it's a split decision thing but the best teams always seem to make them and we don't im afraid.

How the hell can you excuse fifita Trojan is performances this season so far have been pathetic, he's a comical sight when the ball reaches his hands which itself is s rarity
