I've added the surname to the title as it could be misleading.

I didn't know him well but he has given a lot to a lot of people and will be missed.

I didn’t know this gentleman so I can only offer my condolences to his loved ones from one person to another.

What I do know is that people like Mr Whitehead are vital to our sport, the game simply wouldn’t exist without them. They are hugely undervalued in general and these days are becoming thin on the ground.

He will not be easily replaced from what I read, some people are just one offs.
