| Reading some of the threads I’m blown away by some negative comments about him.
For me I think he is perhaps the best player Trinity have signed in the last 5 years.
He plays with pride, has genuine ability and strike and is a threat every time he carries the ball.
Great feet, good engine and a real eye for hitting a tough line.
Sadly I doubt we will be able to retain him at the end of his contract, but let’s enjoy him while we can.

| Totally agree. He has been solid this year but not hit the highs of 2019 where he was getting MOTM and the best forward on the field consecutive games.
The reason for this is not Tanginoa but he’s been forced into prop so that Pitts and Ashurst could play SR.
Massive ball dropped by the coaching team as can be seen tonight. We saw a number of performances from kalepi like that in 2019 all in the SR. Think that was his first start at SR this year and look what happens.
The negative will only be about his performances at prop which were only solid at best but again he is not a prop he is a SR who has been thrown in at prop.

| The only negativity has been when he's been played out of position. As mentioned on other threads he's a destructive Second Rower, probably the best we have and when he plays like he played tonight it's annoying how we haven't been using his talent correctly recently.

The thing is even when he plays Prop he has a dig and certainly isn’t poor.
If other players, big name players, had his desire to work for the team even if played out of position this team would be significantly better for it.
I get the point though but I think he is penalised because of how good he is as a secondrow forward because he doesn’t hit those same levels as a Prop.

I agree but negativity is the teams byword of life. The problem for me is yesterday wasn’t typical despite what people say. He isn’t consistent imo.
As I stated it’s his defence more than anything, he goes missing and the position he plays is irrelevant there.
He has everything it takes not just to be a Trinity star but a SL star. To do that those displays like yesterday’s need to be more in the one in three game ratio at the moment it’s one in ten.
My comments won’t be popular with some but overseas players have to be better than the rest, no point in having them if not. Same applies to Tupou, Miller and Fifita all of whom have been well bellow par now for quite some time even factoring in injuries.
Trinity depend on these players more than most to take us from survivors to contenders. It’s harsh but your only as good as your last game as they say. Tanginoa is on cloud nine after yesterday but he now needs to stay there.
Hope he does.

| I like Kelepi a lot. He'll be in my team somewhere.
However I think we have a few people getting giddy prematurely.
He ran well yesterday against a Super League team with only one forward from their starting pack.
He needs to be able to do what he did with the ball yesterday against better teams as well.
It'll be interesting to relook and see if the pass to him was better to get him the break or whether it was his running or weak defense.
Either way, if he does it again he's gold. If he doesn't he'll probably be back in the front row.

| If Tangible had been left to play in second row we would have been in lot better position The Coaches are a disgrace to the club just sticking square pegs in round holes When he goes you will see when with coaches who no what they are doing how good he is The Coaches are living on taking over a team that was well drilled and fit but not by them

| He tests defences and that will lead to breaks, either by him or it’ll cause a break elsewhere in the line. Whoever the opposition is he’ll be a threat to their line and will stress their defence because of his ability to time himself onto a pass, pick and run good lines, use late footwork and combine all that with some above average power.
It’s not about whether he can score 2 try’s every game or even make a bust every game, he is a threat when he plays in the back row, he’s the same threat even when good defences deal with him because he has to be accounted for and that takes its toll on a defensive line.
Our only other threat is an on form Tupou who could form a really dangerous partnership with Tanginoa. Throw Tom Johnstone back into the mix and we have a really dangerous attacking edge. Who knows it might even create some room down the right hand side for Lyne and BJB.

I thought Westy was your best all round player last night, good luck to Wakey in the future.

| I like him I do,
He has quite a lot of brain farts though, silly pens, errors at PTB, knocks on a fair bit.
Yeah a few barmstorming runs, breaks and tackles but that is only every now and then,

He has made most of those errors since his swap to prop, he wasn’t making them in 2019 at SR in his correct position. I’d like to see the stats for these silly penalties you mention as can’t say I’ve noticed him having bad discipline at all.
