Remember him well. I still think to this day he was the fastest player ever at. BV, and that includes Berwyn Jones. Also remember a program on radio, they interviewed him and a player from Hull, Flanagan I think his was, who worked at Hull docks. Slater had a high end job in finance, driving a flash car, and Flanagan something like a Morris minor.

| My all time favourite Trinity winger. Top class. Great sidestep, speedy and great finisher. Cambridge Blue and signed from Rugby Union.,

| Another who got sick of the thuggery that was about during the 60s/70s
Report mentions the head high tackles but remember KS getting lots of treatment after tackles were supposedly complete including having his face rubbed into the muddy pitch.

True, I remember an away game at Bramley, the old Barley Mow ground, Slater was tackled, and being held down, his opposition winger then trampled over Slaters legs, happened right in front of us, one of the dirtiest acts I’ve witnessed in 67 years of watching the game.

| Superb winger and Trinity record holder. He suffered a big drop in form towards the end of his career due to a lack of confidence. Not surprising considering how he was targeted. Nothing better than seeing him charge down the wing hugging the touchline. RIP Keith.

| Just a little bit before my total understanding of the game, that’s if I’ve ever had any but always sad to hear of a past Wakey player being taken away from us, with a great scoring record like his as well condolences to all family and friends, RIP Keith.

| We had some great wingers in the 1960's and Keith was up there with the best.
A sight to remember - hugging the touchline at speed, cutting inside, and then back to the touchline, making a fool of many a fullback.
RIP Keith and thanks for the memories.

| RIP Keith. Came as a surprise to me. I followed Keith on ‘Twitter’ and he kept himself up to date with things Trinity related. No hint of an illness. A great winger who had speed, swerve and side step. ‘Classy’.

Agree 100%, beagle. However, rarely were the "speed and swerve" attributes required, because he tended to leave the opposition in his wake.
