Is Reece still down under with the GB squad and if so, how the hell isn't he getting a game, either at centre or on the wing ??

Tbh I'm happy, he needs a rest to be ready to play for us. When it suits the selectors can never be bothered with our players so on this occasion I say stuff them.

I agree with your sentiment but, it did seem a little odd to draft a second rower in to play centre, when Reece had at least been in and around the squad and didn't let anyone down on his senior debut against France last season.
He certainly deserved a shot, before GB start putting square pegs into round holes.

Not too many people rated McNamara but, I actually think that Reece may have had a chance with him in charge.

Everything about the team selections on this tour seems daft, yet another reason to get Reece out of it. Feel sorry for the lad but it's a mess not of his making.

Bennett doesn't seem to mind playing players out of position and ignoring others.

Unfortunately it seems to be the norm for him.

Ultimately it's their head on the block and things haven gone so well, yet and it's their prerogative to pick who they think can do the best job for them within the dynamic of the side.
However, it still seems wrong to draft in a player that has little recent experience at centre, over a player that knows the position well AND has done ok there in his one appearance so far.
You have to feel a bit gutted for the lad, although, as Fisherman suggests, IF this is to be a tour, where GB are whitewashed, it may be better for him not to have been involved.

Years back the lad had pace but nowadays he is more of a power player these days using his strength to gain hard yards. The 9’s imo was never going to suit Reece, his game is no longer finding a gap and sprinting the length of the pitch.

With that in mind I don’t think Bennett’s ever seen him play either.

He's quicker than GB's new "centres" and solid as a rock defensively - I will excuse you though as I know that you dont watch Trinity.

Having seen the selection of Blake Austin on the wing I'm genuinely at the stage where I don't think Bennett could do much more to demonstrate just how incompetent he is.

If I was Blake Austin I'd have told him to jog on. I think its disrespectful.

Wayne is apparently known for picking big wingers because of the requirement for them to help out forwards and make yards when your in the sticky stuff. Hence the continued selection of Ryan Hall.

So he's now picked a half back to play there. Yep a half back. A player who plays in a position where people suggest they could wear a dinner suit. Austin loves driving balls up the middle doesn't he.

Austin will also be targeted by New Zealand with the high ball.

Is Austin going to finish tries like Tom Johnstone and Makinson? Don't think so.

Reece and a number of non Wakefield players must be looking at that selection and thinking about their international future under the current coach. He's better off having an off season.

I'm not saying Reece Lyne is the answer. However he has played centre all his career and played 30 games there this year. So surely that's a better option than playing a crap back rower at centre? Why bother other than a nice holiday. Can't stomach any more GB RL Simply jobs for the boys.
