I know what all Trinity fans think of Fifita, but I just have to say, that 1st try under the the posts was awesome, for a prop forward to side step a full back & score was pure class. His 2nd try, when he received the pass, he knew that to run straight to the line that he would be tackled short ! So he can back at an angle towards where the ball was played knowing the defenders relaxed & had not re-set them selves with correct footwork & body set to prevent him, he then saw this & straightened up all at speed & scored, brilliant, a skilled player who has the confidence & ability to win through. What a player.
It is with great credit that the Huddersfield coach set out his game plan on Fifita only to be denied by Chester & Fifita !

Big Dave is just, well, too good.

He’s a big fish in a small pond. He’s the heartbeat of the team and fans love him. To come over from Australia where he’s not a fans favourite and chanting his name can only make him love Wakefield. Yes can get more money no doubt but won’t have the same freedom and loving from the fans as Wakefield.

There's been many props over the years that have rightly deserved the praise given to them but David Fifita just seems in another league. Without doubt the best in the comp and I dont know if there is such a thing as fan funding but Some of us have said we would chip in if we thought it would help keep him at Wakefield

He'd certainly be worth a few extra quid on the price of a season ticket

The sheer joy on his face as he's knocking off tacklers or carrying them over the line is worth the admission fee on it's own.

I never rated Korkidas and I’m on the record loss of times. As usual I was more than happy to swim gains public opinion on that one. Not that i didn’t rate him at all as he was definitely the best we had at the time - just to many flaws for me.

Where Dave is concerned I’m more than happy to go along with the masses - he’s the real deal and imo the best prop in SL, definitely on form. Long live the King so long as he plays for us.

For me it’s not just on the pitch, where he is excellent, but it’s clear to me he is a major part of the squad togetherness and high morale round the place. It’s no coincidence that since he joined Trinity the squad as a whole have really pulled for each other. So off the pitch as well as on it it’s vital we get big Dave to sign.

After last year's World Cup final performance, my dream would have been to have David at No8 and their kid at No10.

I agree with you though Vasty, I don't think that MK was all that good, but he certainly pleased the majority of supporters whilst not quite achieving "cult" status.

Korki then was good for us but just good.
We didn't have the props we have now to compare.
He'd be better in the team we have now as it wouldn't all be on him.

But I can't think any prop, that has had the impact that Fifita has. Clearly the game has changed for props so unfair to compare eras but certainly he is up there with the best.
