well, I dunno anything about club finance but seeing as nothing much has changed since he left, I suspect we wanted to keep him but he wasn't getting game time and chose to make a move himself, can't blame him for that.
I think the talk at the time that he was a bit of a spare part and we had cover one way or another anyway, has been well and truly clotched by the very fact we want him back because we just don't have cover.

I've got a lot of time for him, think he did a great job when Tom was injured 2 years ago, and I hope he does come back. But, from his point of view, why would he?! He knows if he's here next year, he isn't going to play is he, so he's back to square one personally! He's a proven Super league player, he's 26, he needs to be playing regularly, if I was him, i'd only come back with a 3 year deal in my pocket, and guaranteed a proper run of games......

With respect, he's in no position to demand that, and no one should be guaranteed game time. At best it will be a short term contract, who ever he would sign for, with a view to extend if it suited all parties.

Why do you think he left in the first place? He didn't want to be 3rd choice, so like I've said, why would you come back for 3/4 of a season, then to be in exactly the same predicament again?! You would be a bit daft wouldn't you. Well i'm pretty certain Rocky Hampshire only put pen to paper for last season on the proviso he got game time at scrum half? Now he finds himself at full back, but seems pretty comfortable with his role in the team......

I know why he left, but it still doesn't change the situation he's in. He doesn't have a club so even as a free agent their were not many takers, although he may be happy enough playing union 7s, however if he wants to get back into league then he's not in a position of strength. Getting a fair chance of game time is one thing, but a guarantee, no chance. All wingers fit he's not a first choice.

Because he doesn't really appear to have a lot of other offers. What's to say he couldn't sign for remainder of this season with a view to earning a contract elsewhere next season. Put himself in the shop window!! I don't know and can't be d to check if any other SL clubs have people coming off contract at the end of this year that he may replace.

I guess it all depends on whether he has something else in the pipeline - like the RU Sevens that has been mentioned, however nobody seems to be able to find any evidence that he has that offer available.

Well yeah, he could indeed play for us then put himself in the shop window. I do find it a bit odd no SL club offered him something for this year, or maybe they did and it wasn't suitable. None of us know his financial position, so who knows what he will do, if he is offered terms by us, obviously he was a name mentioned by CC. I wonder what Tom Linehams' thinking right now? Seems to have lost his place to Mamo. I know a lot don't rate Lineham, I remember someone on here saying he was no good, and then he scored from about 70 metres against us last season!! Not sure what his contract situation is.....
