| A couple of years ago, I suggested on this forum that the next book by the prolific writer Neil White (who posts on here) should be about the nefarious actions of a fictional local authority run by a Svengali like figure called Paul Crate and that all the profits should go to the Community Trust. He responded by saying he thought it was a good idea apart from the last bit.I have just started reading his latest book "The Darkness around Her" and was surprised to find that the character on trial for murder is called Peter Box !Respect Neil, I hope that as I continue to read he doesn't turn out to be an innocent hero.Maybe your next book should be about a rotund wheeler dealer business man called Roy Ambler,or should names be changed only be changed to protect the innocent ?

| In the blurb on Amazon for Neil's next book 'The Innocent Ones' due next month it says "Unravelling the complex case means finding the connection between Mark’s death and a series of child murders in Yorkshire over twenty years ago. Father of two, Rodney Walker, has spent years in prison after being convicted of killing of 6-year-old William and 7-year-old Ruby back in 1997." Roy Ambler may be another character, only the author knows

| I know it's ridiculous in this case but it's against the AUP to 'out someone' on the forum. Even if he would want you to.
I've edited the first post to only show the authors name you are talking about just to be safe. I don't want someone picking you up on it until I'm happy what you can say.
I will recommend the books though. I've read most of Neil White's books and they are excellent.

| A book with a fictional story which tells us of an evil corrupt council leader hell bent on the destruction of the city's beloved Rugby League team wouldn't sell that well, half way through people would lose interest and scoff at how far fetched the story was.

| I'm sure the books have the usual disclaimers about any similarities being wholly coincidental, and in any event I doubt the characters have any similarities to council leaders or successful local businessmen. It may be that the earlier books include other rugby league references. For instance, there may well have been a victim called Adrienne Morley in an earlier book.
I understand that people frequently request to have their name included in a book. The author may well recall fondly naming the estwhile BBC reporter Ian Bramley, for example. It could well be the author's tribute to the two local dignitaries, recognising their efforts in helping to bring the stadium a step closer. Or it may not. Or it may even be a pure coincidence.

| I've been buying Neil White's books since I read about them in one of the Wakefield Trinity Fanzines (possibly 4 Fox Sake?) A fanzine known for only having some wonderful writers contributing to it ... and I filled in the odd page left when the good writers had finished
