Anyone know what happened with him? (not transfer wise)

I always thought we was a solid player for us and can't imagine he was on a massive wage, why'd we let him go?

Haven't a clue but as a guess, even though he won't have been on much money, it probably went on signing on our youngster's &/or updating players contracts we wanted to keep. He also went at the start of CC's first full season as well, so maybe he thought the money could be spent better elsewhere.

He went to Fev

Good tough player who gave 100 % for us, I believe he went to Fev became a fans favorite in no time with his all action displays then very sadly suffered some head injuries and was forced to retire on medical grounds

I know a few Fev fans and none of them have him as a fans favourite. He’s solid enough but not a top championship player let alone SL which is probably why Fev let him go a few month back.

I have nothing against the bloke but I’m happy we are signing far better players these days and that we are now producing Academy players to fill the rolls that players like Walton used to.

Given the OP's first line I thought he knew where he went and as he says, asking more about why we let him go rather than keeping him on longer.

I guess it’ll have something to do with what Vastman said, getting rid of players like that and letting the academy lads do just as good a job for probably less money.

Think we moved on quality wise if I’m being honest. Was a decent squad player in 2016.

Caught some of his conversationas he was at the Boxing Day game and as I understood he’s had a run of bad injuries and was callin it a day or word to that effect .

He hasn’t retired he’s just out for the season but he’s hoping to play again when he’s fit
