| If he was attempting an old fashioned hoik, it's not a red, or maybe not even a yellow.
For me, the bad calls were the allowing the water carriers on at every single scrum and the decision to stop the game for every single injury. Hicks slowed that game to a crawl. They need to cut out the water carriers at scrums. Every knock on turned into a protracted rest. The game finished at 8.15pm. That means that an 80 minute game took 120 minutes (if you take off the 15 minutes at half-time). Dreadful drawn-out spectacle.

| I always thought water carriers can only enter the field of play when your team is attacking not defending?

They can enter whenever the clock has stopped

| You have. The Saints geezer was on almost continually in our last meeting at Belle Vue.

| Can't see a problem with a water carrier coming on as long as he doesn't interfere with play
If have binned Tomkins twice.

| In the bad old days Samkins wouldn't have been on the field to do the second one. I had to laugh how Eddie Hemmings compared the incident when the Wigan player slid into Charnley with Sm's blatant knees job.

| If that hadn't been the GF, his first offence would have seen him off for 10 mins; the second one he's been doing his whole career - and should also have been more than a penalty. He's a grub.

Watch Charnley's try, Ratboy and Williams both go in with the knees. Williams on the back of Charnley's legs, Ratboy misses his head this time. The blatant time wasting against Cas in the semi final was a disgrace.

There has been a whole new wave of time wasting creeping in over the last season.
Players feigning injury, especially from drop outs, defensive scrums and penalties.
Sides have always wasted some time from these stoppages in play but, it's reached epidemic proportions this season and most sides are culpable, with players dropping to ground with a mystery injury, only to jump back to their feet when they feel that their side is "ready to go".
As for Tomkins knees, definitely deliberate and his look of fear after he connected, showed, not remorse for an accidental collision but, fear of being sent off and costing his side victory.
Just another of Wigans trademark plays. mind you, Charnleys looked deliberate later on as well

| Both incidents should have warranted a yellow. Cheating and dirty play is part and parcel of the game. However we are supposed to be monitoring this sort of foul play while the game is going on. The ref and the video ref bottled both decisions. It would have been interesting to see if Wolves would have done more had the refs grown a pair.
