"Statement from Yorkcourt Properties Limited
Yorkcourt Properties Limited has today announced their plans for a new community stadium just off of Junction 30 of the M62.
The proposal is to develop a scheme capable of supporting a new 12,000 capacity community stadium in order to safeguard the Super League future of Rugby League in the district, and to encourage the development and retention of local sporting talent by providing facilities worthy of a city with such a proud sporting heritage.
A new community trust has been set up, chaired by Sir Rodney Walker, to help deliver the project and to ultimately own and operate the facility, for the benefit of the local community. This will be a community stadium in every sense of the word, with a pioneering ownership and operating structure to ensure it is run for the benefit of the local community. There is also the potential for an educational element, with the local college and university considering the possibility of a sport science department on site.
Sir Rodney Walker says, “We have been working extremely hard with all relevant parties to find a solution to benefit the whole community and a new site for the proposal. We are delighted to have found an opportunity with great access and great potential to move sport on to another level in the district. We very much hope that this is the first step in creating world class facilities and clubs in the district.”
Colin Mackie of Yorkcourt Properties comments, “This is a very exciting opportunity for Yorkcourt to be involved in. We are confident that the project can be delivered in a timescale to guard the future of Rugby League in the district and create a facility for sustained sporting success”.
Ted Richardson, chairman of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats said, “This is very exciting for Rugby in the district. We are under enormous pressure to be playing in a stadium which lives up to the world class Rugby League being played in Super League. Having seen a number of false dawns, we are confident that this is a deliverable plan and should safeguard the future of the club for many, many years to come”.

| I'm not sure what your angle is by posting that.
Are you saying you didn't actually know, or that maybe you didn't believe this happened.
Or is there something in the statement that needs pointing out....or something....I dunno

A new stadium is proposed. A new trust has been set up, chaired by Rodney Walker. 8 years and no further on.

Your best option is the one presented at Bell Vue where you pay a going rent. Which covers running costs and upkeep. New stadiums are not the cash cow people think. They struggle and compete with every other business to create and maintain revenue.
No one is really going to spend 10-20 mill building you a stadium at Newmarket, it was never going to happen but as a bye product you now have a much more workable offer........ Feel free to look back at the old threads much of what I said came to pass ..... Now get Carter to the tabl.
You need to stop listening to the same old voices and start petitioning Carter for answers; how much rent is being asked etc... then start putting all your effort into just generally supporting the club grow of the pitch like it is on.
Newmarket was all ways a Trojan Horse which I strongly advised you all at the time... believe me the plan for Bell Vue is actually a goer.

Now forgive me for not reading back through all the threads but the above is your FOURTH post so all you are talking about took place in three posts. I've heard of being succinct but this is stretching credibility. Haven't been exactly active on the matter have you.

There was a Fev troll called rugbyball who was always against Newmarket and Wakefield when it first came around. I'm guessing this is the same person.

| Read Mike Rylance's book on Wakey's history - it's been going on a lot longer than that...as has our rivalry with Leeds, Huddersfield & Bradford (Cas was a lot later), our money troubles, reliance on young, homegrown players sold on to wealthier clubs (see rivalry) to help pay the bills, the need for bigger crowds to help pay our way and ground ownership/help from the council issues...it's just that the council is now Cas controlled/friendly now

It appears to have good reviews. Just tried to source it but it is out of stock (and maybe out of print) at both Amazon and Waterstone's

Got it. An excellent book for any Trinity fan. Especially for the likes of me that didn't know much about the proper ins and outs and goings onbehind the scenes of the club before I started to follow Trinity in the mid 80's as a kid.
