Im a trinity fan of many years but not lived in the area for years, so only info is thru this and other sites.
Can someone tell me why the Wakefield Express are not covering the Stadium situation, dont there reporters have any balls. If there is a scandal dig the info out and print and be damned.
Maybe a campaign to the editor. editor@wakefieldexpress.co.uk my email has been sent.
Must be easier to do baby shows and funerals.

| Print media is dying - and local rags are the first casualties; they have skeleton staff, no actual journalists, and rely on advertising for their continued existence.
The WE gave up on WT many years ago - you'd be better served getting your stadium news from here.

Don't buy that as to why they would choose not to cover it. It's a ready made story for them, wouldn't take much putting together surely. A community stadium should be something they are atleast showing an interest in given the poor facilities in the city.

The alternative is that they have deliberate intent to harm the club - which I don't believe; I just don't think they have the manpower or the expertise to do the investigative journalism that the story would require - bearing in mind that they wouldn't just be able to print what The Trust told them - they'd actually have to trawl planning applications, the inspectors report, talk to YC, WMDC, the landowner, Newcold etc.
And after all that - what good would it do, since nobody reads it any more?

| Isn't it not published in Wakefield anymore, could that be a factor?

I'm not necessarily suggesting they have deliberate intent to harm the club by not covering it. But there may be some politics there in terms of not wanting to show the council in a bad light, for whatever reason. To be fair I have seen them put out one or two online articles about it, but funnily enough they all featured Box (or some other politician) when they were giving it the 'put up or shut up' jive and all that hot air that went no where.

| I had the opportunity to sit and read/steal a copy out of the canteen at work earlier.
I simply couldn't be bothered.
£1.25 you say ? Its not even worth 15 seconds of my time to walk over and stash it in my back pocket.

Do they need to? At this moment in time it's bobbing along nicely for them.

The Wakefield Express is part of the massive Johnstone newspaper publishing group which also owns the national daily, Yorkshire Post, who could pick the story up quite easily if they wanted to do. But the story doesn't involve Leeds, Sheffield, Bradford or York so they probably can't be bothered.
