Unless the deadline can be met Trinity could be left with no choice but to sell their Super League license and ground share with a Championship club.'"
It just won't go away. Scaremongering or a very real threat?
Walker has really thrown a spanner into an already complex situation unlikely to bare fruit.

Very real threat I believe.
We need something concrete that can be put to the RFL to demonstrate serious intent that we have a new stadium on the not too distant horizon. If we cannot show this our future in SL is under serious threat with Clubs like Toulouse, Toronto and Hull KR champing at the bit to get in SL.
Walker needs to put up or shut up as he is only making a difficult situation even more complicated.

| When Unity Works opened in Wakefield there was a sculpture made of drumsticks (I think) with all the patron's names engraved on. Sir Rodney Walker was spelt something like Sir Rodneg Walker, so I pointed it out to the woman who was showing us round. With hindsight what I should have told her was in the case of Sir Rodney, Walker was spelt with n, not l.

| You cannot sell a super league licence, you just get thrown out of super league, and as yet there are no rules regarding stadia, however there are RUMOURS that there will be soon.

| I'm guessing this is pressure from the official trust to force Rodders/Box/Yorkcourt into action, as LW says as of now there is no selling of franchises, another of Phil Clarkes crackpot ideas.

Although you cant "sell" a licence, are you allowed to re-locate and if so, how far.
If this is allowed, theoretically, you could relocate and them, maybe, the club could be sold ??
This would need ratification from the RFL but, it may be possible ?

What is most concerning with all this is, just how SRW can resign and how a new trust can have any legitimacy, without the consent of the original trust members.
To the outsider, it's nothing short of a disgrace and the "local" press should be squeezing this until the pips drop but, for whatever reason, they dont want to go against Mr Box.

Wrong on both counts unfortunately - The RFL indicated in the media back in March that they would consider allowing existing struggling Super League clubs to relocate into another area, so in effect allowing clubs to sell their current Super League franchise. Super League has also reintroduced minimum stadium standards, pretty much based on the previous set, but at the moment if you don't meet them, as Castleford and Wakefield don't, then it is in the form a financial penalty. So both Wakefield and Castleford have had their SL Central Funding money (Sky money, if you will) reduced this year because their stadium don't meet the standards and that will of course apply going forward.

| I hope Rodney knows what he's doing! Just when things were looking rosy, he takes a high stakes gamble on himself and puts the whole club at risk.

Well it might be, or it could be just a bit more newspaper hyperbole.
Either way, the pressure would be worth applying if the Bermuda triangle actually gave a 5h1t, but I don't think they do, they're just running the clock down.

| I just hope that both of us get solutions to the stadium issues so that we can keep having competitive derby games the same as Thursday night, hopefully at the top end of the table for a long time to come. I know I may be in the minority here, but I firmly believe that having a strong Wakey and a strong Cas in SL is good for each other. Only my opinion. Plus, I want another few pints of Snowies beer when we visit you next, so you can't go anywhere!

Yep, Thursday night was fantastic for 78 minutes. Fingers crossed for plenty more to come in the future, only this time fantastic for the full 80 minutes.
