Woke up to this sad news this morning and my thoughts and prayers go out to all those who were there or had friends or loved ones at the Arena.
Have been listening to grief stricken parents who have been unable to contact their children on the news this morning on my drive to work and it is heart-breaking.
Be safe and be vigilant but do not cower in fear otherwise the terrorists succeed in their aims.

Armed police have been patrolling the county for the past 50 years, it's just that they have been in vehicles and not on foot, so are not easily visible and hopefully that will be the case again soon.

I saw an interview with a former counter terrorist officer on TV yesterday, who confidently said that the only force in the country with sufficient armed responders is the Met; and that since the then Home Secretary's (one Mrs T May) cuts to the service, no other force has the requisite number of armed response units to handle situations like this.
I guess that's why the Army are now being drafted in - to cover the shortfall? |
