Hope the mods don't mind but I didn't want this lost in what is now a very long thread.
Hello all,
We are really moving now but I think it's time to concentrate our efforts a bit. Although this is a national issue it's at local level where we can apply the most pressure. What we now need to do is push the regional media organisation below to do there job and chase the story and bother the hell out of Box. I have listed below the points I think we should concentrate on but if TRB or Sandal etc want it differently I'm sure they will let us know.
1: Introduce yourself more as a concerned ratepayer than a Trinity fan who just wants the best for the city.
2: Point out your concerns to whichever media group you're writing to isn't pursuing this massive local story with any obvious vigour, whilst two national newspapers are doing their job for them - add links to stories to your e-mail or letter.
www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/footba ... tin-O-Neil
www.independent.co.uk/sport/gene ... 66791.html
3: Point out WMDC's massive failure in sports provision which is why the Community Trust was set up in the first place and why the Council supported the Newmarket development at great cost to the rate payer - note that it's not just a stadium but facilities for all - this is the real scandal - the total and wilful disregard of the Government Inspectors report and the 106 Agreement. This is the borderline illegal stuff and it's certainly the scandal.
4: If you wish to bring Cas in then commend their development and how helpful CASTLEFORD SHAREHOLDER BOX has been. Also point out that it's location makes it totally unsuitable as a Community Stadium for the whole of WMDC - lets not alienate Cas fans and their current more enlightened BOD.
5: End by saying it's not money we want from the Council (though that would be nice - subtle) but for them to force the developer York Court into fulfilling their legal and moral obligation to the Wakefield ratepayer. Then if York Court won't play ball then the council uses it's considerable powers to force them to do so even if that means taking them to Court.
6: Point out that this is a massive issue locally where we need to show that the old style corrupt Labour District monopolies are dead and that a modern "Northern Powerhouse" really does exist. Put your own slant on it so long as we are not to abusive or personal.
We have a great case so no need to sound bitter or overly aggressive.
The 106 Agreement - all the info you really need is in both articles.

| Well done Vasty.
We have considerable people power so it's time to focus the effort rather than random mailing.
Your post will help everyone (me included) do that.

| I do believe that Box Announced some years ago that he had sold his shares in Cas
So unless there is positive proof that he still holds those shares dont let him have the opportunity to pull the rabbit out of the hat with proof positive that he has sold them !!!

| The Box Cas connection is a red herring for me.
He could still do his job while being a Cas fan.
I'd steer away from that as it implies conspiracy theory rather than the clear facts which the other points show.

Personal choice, but I think there is some mileage in it - can anyone confirm he has them?
I think it does highlight a conspiracy but not a cash one more a conspiracy to please only his hard core support which is...let me think.
As I say personal choice.

You can purchase a full list of the shareholders from Companies House for about £2.00. The latest public return is 17/8/2015 so it is slightly out of date.

| I had a look yesterday and on his Register of Interest he states he has shares in Castleford Tigers.
If you did want to go down that road it would probably better to ask if any of the Councillors have actually discussed this in terms of a conflict of interest. I.e. does Mr Box see the development of a Community Stadium in Wakefield as a project which could conflict with a Stadium in Castleford which he has a vested interest in as Castleford shareholder. Furthermore is Mr Box really the right person to be leading on this project, as a neutral representative of Wakefield Council, when he is a shareholder in Castleford Tigers RLFC, an interested party who would have a stake in a Community Stadium.
I'd fully agree in steering away from conspiracy theories, but I think it is only right and proper, in the interest of transparency that Mr Box is challenged on his ability to be impartial in the matter and act in the best interests of the citizens of the District of Wakefield.

| Unfortunately I cant remember the date that his register of interest was submitted and I can't check as the WMDC has de-activated that section of the website, so it may be worth confirming that.

Had a look at that myself, strange, he definitely had a share a while since. Why would anyone sell a single share? Unless they didn't want to muddy the water?

So, he could profit from a s.106 agreement gifting a £10m stadium to said private company???? What's the share prices doing these days?
