In watching these 4 nations can't see anything other than an Aus v NZ final. Is it time to change the international calender by reverting back to GB and test series. Could keep the 4 nations to emerging nations but increasing the number of teams

Next week it has to be Williams and Widdop at half back. Gale has had two chances now to prove himself and IMO has virtually done nothing .Some of his passes today were suicidal. He has not got the flair of Williams or the acumen of Widdop.
Also Wayne Bennett needs to brush up his interview skills - the miserable old sod.

For me we just need to play the likes of Aus & NZ more. I know it's hard to fit into the calendar but sticking GB shirts on the same players won't change anything imo. I don't mind the idea of when we tour down under playing as GB though.

England in the next game have to up their game and also their intensity massively. With each player playing to their full potential and really get stuck into the Aussie faces from the whistle to stand a chance of winning. Conversely the Aussies will have to be not at their best also. I mean the game that's just finished, although Aus generally controlled the game, NZ were just a held up player over the line and a conversion away from a draw in the dying seconds.

Also if Graham's fit he obviously comes back in and Widdop for Gale. Thought Williams really added something extra today, whereas Gale as been anonymous in the games he's played.

No matter how great a coach he is, he's been frankly cringeworthy when been interviewed. I know he isn't the best at that side of things but come on man.

Ended up watching the bonfire die out before the Aussie v New Zealand game, the bonfire bit was more exciting than the England game.

England took 40 minutes and probably a roasting from Bennett to get going.
When we battered them down the middle, Scotland couldn't cope.
Australia are a different proposition all together. Machine like, very few errors and if you dont match up, they will destroy you.
Our right side defence, although strong on paper, was targeted with success last night, which is a major worry for next week.
Although Scotland deserve some credit and improved massively form last week, Australia are superior in every department and we look like we are in for a hammering.
Hope i'm wrong but it looks like Austalia v NZ at Anfield.

Australia will batter us to death - particularly if we come out as listless as we did in the 1st half against Scotland.

And Bennett's interview - just cringey; if the England coach has some role in publicising and growing the game, I would suggest he's breaching the T's and C's of his contract. I bet poor old Tanya wonders what she's done to upset him.

Whats the sketch with the beeb coverage.
Why is their slo-mo such diabolical garbage, I mean...I don't actually mind their coverage despite their presenter knowing absolutely nothing about RL but I couldn't make sod all conclusions about Matty Russel's try/no try from the blurry rubbish they played back to us during the game.
Are they shooting and replaying standard frame rate cameras for tv but giving the vid ref high frame rate, if so, wtf for
The ref sent up the call no try, so the vid ref better have pretty conclusive vid evidence to the contrary if hes gonna over rule that call.
What we got to see was a foot of pink blur, and no idea at all whether a try was scored or not.
This of course is commentary on the beebs abysmal slo-mo coverage of events that can make a difference to the outcome of a game, not a dig at a Scottish score, personally I think he deserved to score it on effort alone but that replay wasn't of sufficient quality that anyone could tell one way or the other, let alone strike the on field decision.

I like him, I like that he's telling it like it is, I don't want to hear no "for TV" commentary.
I want him edgy and ed off when England are poor, I wanna know he's as ragged off as I am, that he's not just here to make up the numbers, its nice to see that..icon_smile.gif

Well done you - because I can't find anything to like about him; he's a cantankerous, sour, grumpy old man and comes across as having a massive chip on his shoulder.

Well, he's Australian, it can't come as much of a surprise, they're not generally known for their tact or sucking up to the media.
I dunno, its just a complete non story for me, Aussie coach thinks they played e.......and said so shocker.
I couldn't care less about his perceived persona, as long as he gets this team moving.
If he doesn't, well....all bets are off and he's a legitimate target.
Half the coaches in SL have had a face like a smacked for half the season, Darryl Powel, Dennis Betts, Radford, look at Wane, a complete but you cannot argue with what he's achieved, nip in the Pie forum, nobody is whinging about his on screen temperament there.
Nope, I wanna see how d he is about a performance, and to show it on TV just adds credence to his motives for taking the job in the first place, stuff the neutrals, winning will do more for them than dancing round daisy's in tv interviews.
