Quote: financialtimes "On the subject of James Child, can someone please tell me how, Fev player knocks on in goal and it's a 20m restart and Wakey hold up Fev player in goal and it's a goal line drop outAlso head high shots all through the game (both sides TBH) and he gives first penalty when player is falling and there's very little you can do.
On the positives I thought our young lads did pretty well against an almost full strength Fev side that played on a pitch that was in terrible condition and certainly doesn't suit our style of play, we made slightly better use of the slope than Fev and bombed 2 or 3 chances and conceded following errors/penalties, 3 very soft tries conceded.
Considering we didn't have our first choice half backs and a million miles away from our first choice forwards, we did OK and shows we do have a bit of back up in the middle but slightly worrying in the halves and 3/4's.'"
I can only suggest that our winger was touching the dead ball line when he made contact with the ball so the ball is dead whether he picks it up, knocks on, kicks it, heads it, whatever. Apparently for the held up that wasn't, Thackeray was short, Arundel (I think) stole the ball and was then tackled in goal, however it was as much of a try as anything I've ever seen
