Here's a clip from our chat with Michael Carter this week, discussing the dropping of Tim Smith and what the Chairman would have done two years ago, knowing what he does now. The full piece (over 40 minutes) will be out soon, so keep an eye on our YouTube channel and rlhttps://www.tvyorkshire.co.ukrl because there's plenty more content from Belle Vue, and the rest of the Rugby League world to come...
A good insight into the running of the club and the dealings he's had to contend with, perhaps his detractors' might go a little easier on him this season.
Just listened to this interview and I think he came across as being honest.. And the interview went a long way to explaining how difficult it has been, and is running a super league club. Especially when we had bugger all money to run it on...
Easy for me to say it now, but I was 100% behind the tough calls he had to make... They paid off... For him and us as supporters of this club... We now find ourselves in a better financial positon to compete next year, which in turn has given us a bit more wonga to get ourselves some decent players...
I'm quite sure he will be more than happy to hand the reigns on to brian smith to keep the playing side of things on track. He didn't talk in depth too much about the new stadium that we were promised, but now the latest battles have been won , I think he will be turning his attention to this problem.. Mr box may well be tucking into his cornflakes on a morning thinking that all the bases are covered... But the issue is not going to go away, The next battles are on the horizon.. In the years that I have been reading this forum there are people who have worked extremely hard to get us the new stadium (we know who they are). And I do think that if MC, sandal cat etc and us the supporters of this club stick together, then this is also a battle that can be won..
