Bit late with this , but RLlegend Brian Lockwood is talking about his career tomorrow between 12.15 -1.45 at the Labour club ( red shed ) .
It's part of the Wakefield library festival - & best of all ......it's for nowt !

I remember Brian having the Talbot in Normy about 30yrs since, l'd been playing squash, got showered, put on my Aussie rugby shirt, walked into the bar, he walked up to me and said "You'll not get served in here with that sh8 on, turn it inside out or f oak off"! Did as he said and had a good hour chewing the cud!

Brian had two spells in Australia, one with Balmain and the other with Canterbury.. What did have against the Aussies?

He's had a few pubs and was in the same class as me at school. Last time I was talking to him was over Newmarket walking his dog. Its where he was living then. Don't know if he's still there.

Been going to this slot for the last few years during the literary festival. Well worth an hour on a Saturday afternoon and you rarely get a bad pint in the Shed!

NGB4W - yes pal he is still living down Watergate,when I was learning to drive if my dad was at work his dad Walt would go with me a good few years back is that his oldest son has the "Barnes Wallace "pub over at Howden.

I thought it was Brian that had the one at Howden. Is Jarrad his oldest?
