My hopes of a win were evaporating when I saw Smith out/ Miller in. Have to say, thought Miller did well today, perhaps had his best game for us.

Big issue is the kicking game. Locke put in some decent ones, but McShane should give up, he never had or will have a resemblance of a kicking game, I cringe to see his attempts of a grubbed just end up in opposition hands.

I was on the pitch before the match with the kids that were playing. Smith came out for his fitness test with so much strapping in his knee he actually had very limited movement like it was stuck on.

I was personally pleased he didn't make it. I genuinely don't get the big thing about him. I think he is average at best most if the time just shipping it on rather than committing defenders or challenging the defence. Miller I thought was pretty good tonight. The entire kicking game was poor early doors but once that clicked and Miller started taking on the line we were a different side.

Wakefield need players who are going to stand up and be counted grafters and lads who will go at the opposition. Smith for me isn't that player nor will he ever be.

Fair points about Timmy, I have always championed him in the past, but I don’t think he’s up for this fight.
