Would you rather win and be competitive in the championship and play middle 8 rugby or loose all season and play middle 8 rugby?!

All things equal I'd probably go for the first option but unfortunately its not that simple.

a.) We go into Championship, I'm guessing with the drop in revenue, its likely we couldn't afford the rent to stay at Belle Vue, so would have to find a new ground to play at.
&
b.) Again with the drop in revenue and also the drop in attendances, who's to say we would stay full time and in turn stay competitive enough to win a few games?

I like being in Super League. Knowing we are competing against the best in the country helps set the benchmark. Okay we've struggled most years in Super League, yet to date we've survived one way or another. After making the old version of the play offs 3 times there is always the chance for a another relatively successful year.

Whilst winning a lot in the Championship would bring confidence, I always like the idea of competing at the highest level.

I don't particularly care which division the club are in, notwithstanding all the off field issues a drop down would cause. I enjoy seeing the best players in the country and watching my team 'compete' against them. I can't say I enjoy the snobbish attitude of SL though. I think I'd prefer a season like Leigh's rather than a season like Trinity's.

Staying in S L must remain the objective. Another season would in my view cement the club and playing rota.I think we would all see another Trinity taking the field . All clubs are capable of stringing a few results together that leads to the sky team sing the praises of the fortunate team. On the displays I have seen you could throw a blanket over half a dozen teams and to break in to that click wouldn't take to much. It's only Wakefield shambolic form and total lack of effort that's lead to some of those clubs for
Widnes for example have taken 4 points of us this season, not because they have vastly improved but because we have been so poor. The remainder of the season gives Wake the opportunity to put a few scores back on the board . Looking forward to a rejuvenated display or two under Mr Smith.

We have to have ambition and surviving in SL is a must.
Although we may one day end up in the Championship, we should be using every breath that we have to stay in the top flight.

If all you want is to see your team win every week, we may as well sign up for the conference.

Wakefield is a great club, with some great history and most fans dream of a return to the glory days of the 60's and although this may be unlikely
or may never happen but, to aspire to the Championship, just to win a few more games is to surrender and the one thing that this club has never done
is give up the fight !

Superleague every time…….

Been to the post office today to see if I could get an application form to apply to the Rugby League for Iconic ground status at Belle Vue. They told me not to be so silly as there was NO SUCH THING AS AN ICONIC RUGBY LEAGUE GROUND!!!!!

The thing is look at this seasons..
Loosing games loosing fans which in turn will make it hard to get sponsors etc....
Anything said about wakefield in the press or by comentry in comparison Leigh are the flavour of the month.

I think it would be worth considering the worst case scenario might not be that bad in the long run!!

Tosh . Wake should stay up. Leigh may be the flavour of the month but it's a level playing field come the 8 and I fully expect wake to stay up.

To 'expect' anything where Wakey are concerned is utter folly young man!

I haven't expected anything after nearly 52 years of watching the club. However I do have full confidence in Mr Smith to pull things round. I don't even think it's the last throw of the dice more like a stitch in time . Wakefield will benefit from the man management, structure and input of Mr Smith . The club only a couple of weeks ago seemed totally incapable of pulling anything out of the bag .Well they have just appointed one of the best coaches in the game and for me that's a massive step in the right direction.

...well said that man....together we are stronger (haven't heard that one in a while !!!)
