| Today I hear of a article in the Scum newspaper by our self acclaimed saviour Sir Michael Carter about taking our club out of town to Barnsley or Doncaster. Repeatedly I hear the coach speaking about concentrating on the bottom 8s. And then once again we get a absolute trouncing. Time for change! THIS SUPER DUPER Chairman gave Webster a 3 year deal....lets hope HE can afford to pay him off.

| I've read the article and it says the might look to move if relegated as Bellevue wouldn't be viable. I don't know the ins and outs of the club but I wouldn't think the article would have given much motivation to the players having said that you would think they would want to put themselves in the shop window for next year as I can't see us being in sl and can only think we would be part time in the championship. Can't see the club would survive. MC asked the question do the public of Wakefield want a super league club, it looks as though they don't.

If I was short sighted I could become a referee!: |
|
| Doncaster are playing at Doncaster to poor crowds Sheffield are playing at Doncaster to poor crowds now Carter wants Wakefield to play at Doncaster ( to poor crowds). 3 teams to play in 1 town with no History of a successful team? Rugby League becoming a joke sport!

Ah Voaksey turns up, you seem to like a little negativity, the last time I saw you at a game was the Tony Smith/Teapot era.

| Is that cos you don't go mick anymore? Or do you still stand in idiot corner? Or are you one of the wealthy few who have paid to stand in the bar in Benidorm flats? I see your mate woody a lot at games and your never with him, wonder if you have lost the faith and stopped going. Didn't see you at Halifax game either.

| I can understand the financial reality of moving if Belle Vue is unsustainable, as the choice is no Trinity as unsustainable or a Trinity for another couple of years elsewhere.
If he used the line again about do the people of Wakefield want a super league club or not, he needs to drop it. It's fan-blaming. The obligation is not on the Wakefield club to keep the club going by paying a lot of hard-earned cash on dire performances but on the Wakefield club to give the people of Wakefield something they want to watch.
He needs a decent coach and he needs a marketing person. End of. Carter sells the club badly by not selling it, and turning it into some kind of hair shirt, that we must all hand over cash to watch tripe, and if we don't, it's all our fault. That isn't how businesses who sell a product operate.

| I'd be dead set against a move away from Belle Vue £250K or not!
Oldham are a cautionary tale and we should take heed of their demise which is linked with their move away from The Watersheddings in 1998. Boundary Park was the other side where the grass looked greener but it turned out to be a baron and fallow land for The Roughyeds who are now playing out of a *cough* stadium which makes Osset Town look like The Emirates Stadium.
I think the statement is designed to illuminate the desperation stakes we are forced to consider and be somewhat of a threat to the WMDC and wider public with regards to the last Pro Sport in the City being lost for good!

Therein lies the problem of having an accountant running the daily business of a sports club. Sport business is not the same as any other business, you cannot run a Pro sports club in the same way you run a call centre or a sandwich shop.
The dynamics are so different and attention has to be paid to marketing and promotion in a way accountants don't appreciate. Strategies for the sale of the product cannot be approached in the same way you sell fork lift trucks to the warehouse industry. You cannot treat the customers like any other customer, supporters have a lifelong emotional involvement with the club and feel a level of ownership and entitlement that customers in every day business don't have.
I'm not having a pop at MC here, he was the right man at the right time and did a superb job but now need to build on that or the club will die anyway, despite his efforts. If the money isn't there then, despite running a small squad already, we need one less player in favour of a better administration staff/marketing/promotions/strategist person.
The 3 year deal to Webster is a prime example of the nativity of the new owners, there simply was no justification or need to give Webster, an untried Coach, a 3 year deal. Now we have the issue of knowing he is out of his depth, lost the dressing room, damned by his own words and seen as the problem by the fans and some very knowledgable people yet we can't remove him because we can't afford to pay his remaining two and half years off!

Plainly it was, yet there does seem to be a fair amount of animosity towards Carter so it's a great stick to beat him with. He won't move the club out of the city, chances are he'll just walk away.
If we are forced from BV then as I said before there is always College Grove. A 3k capacity should suits us down to the ground.

Where do Wakefield FC play these days?
Edit. I didn't realise they had moved back to Emley.

Fair enough. We're screwed then, unless that offer from YC did involve buying back BV.
